Tipex
60+ mpg out of a non-turbo diesel. It's OK if you keep it wound up, but at 60bhp, it doesn't set anything on fire. No it's not particularly quick, but I find the SDi engines just seem to have very very responsive throttles?
TP27
The Golf R has gone down extremely well in the press world Which is a shame - as I hoped it'd be a well kept secret ! It's a good car but if I'm entirely honest, I preferred the looks of the Mk6 R more. I'll not be buying an RS3 though - I'm still hankering over the B8 RS4 - I've seen one I fancy but my brain says no, been, seen and done......... Besides, MrMe would tell me off - can't have that !!!

TP27
No! I like the RS4 and you know that! I do know that but it's an Audi - and I'd be wary of the abuse, nevertheless !!
TP27
I have always liked the B7 RS4 Saloon..... Me too, funnily enough - but only in the "right" colour. It looked awful in Silver and Black. My original Test Drive in the Demo car was a red B7 RS4 saloon. That was a great experience but I went and drove a 911 Carrera 4S afterwards and that was not..........!! It'll be interesting to see the first new RS3 on the roads though - I sense the exhaust note will be lovely !!
NewNiceMrMe
I do know that but it's an Audi - and I'd be wary of the abuse, nevertheless !! I'll say it again....we have an Audi on the drive! I have nothing against the brand whatsoever - I just don't like every car in the range!

cruiser647
One of the contractors here has just bought a 2 yr old X5 (permies can't afford such toys...........) and it's in white. Hes' had it less than a week and he's had it washed twice. It's filthy now. However, he does drive down the Lower Luton Road which is a tree lined dark dingy road which never sees the sun and loves filling up with water. TP27
Why not, that's the best colour! What colour is your Golf R? Never liked Sprint Blue on the B7, just a personal thing - Nogaro Blue on the B5 was lovely, really suited it. The GolfR is Lapiz Blue - dealer would never have allowed me to take anything else !!

NewNiceMrMe
Sprint blue looked crap on the B7. It was too shouty. TP27 had the right colour. Filthy Scottish Blue, or something like that.
