Busby
Had another parcel of goodies arrive today. I knew these were going to be awesome but I really don't have the words to describe how good they actually are. Massive thanks to Giamoto for making them for me. Just need the bike to arrive now!! Busby
I don't know what's going on - I can't see any emoticons or any of the normal icons (add picture, add link, quote, etc) and even if I tab inside the reply/text box it just writes everything as one paragraph. I've tried using a different browser and the mobile site and it's just the same. Weird, I'll try and get a pic up tomorrow

Busby
when does the bike arrive ? They are saying end of March/early April. Fingers crossed. I'm planning on taking a few days to get the first 500 miles on her with no changes and then getting all the work done at the first service. Busby
The finish on those is spot on They really are stunning and beautifully made. It's lovely to have something that's been made in the UK too - it's all too easy to forget that there are companies making stuff like this.
Torino101
That must be properly expensive to have made
Busby
That must be properly expensive to have made Not at all really - less than the price of the official Aprilia aftermarket rearsets. They make parts like this for a couple of different manufacturers bikes - Ducati, Aprilia and BMW principally along with Triumphs too I think. They also make the most beautiful titanium bolts/screws and some other bits and pieces.
garcon magnifique
I guess it's all relative. I'm definitely no bike expert, but would I be a million miles away if I suggested the official Aprilia bits are probably more expensive than most Jap bikes?
Scotty
They also make the most beautiful titanium bolts/screws and some other bits and pieces. I bet they're a bit more expensive than the Pro-bolt stainless steel caliper bolts I've literally just installed. The old ones seem to have heads made of cheese! Would love to throw loads of titanium etc on it but even if it gave me 3 secs a lap (which it wouldn't) would I notice it. ....then again I popped into my local bike place earlier and they did have a nice titanium Akra slip-on that did feel lovely and light. It's all very tempting

It's all very tempting Pro Bolt have a great reputation and you're right that it's only when you see and handle stuff like this that you realise how rubbish the stock fixings are. I agree completely with you about the not noticing any difference either. The things I'm changing on the bike are purely for my own aesthetic taste along with a bit of functionality i.e. the levers are purely looks based but the adjustability of these rear sets will help me as the stock ones are fixed and I'm 6' 3". It would be awesome to change all the fixings to titanium (especially with the drilled heads ready for lock-wire) but the cost is just mental by the time you add up all the fairing fixings, engine case bols, brake disc bolts, etc, etc The exhaust is a different matter all together - that's for looks and scaring people
Busby
PS - go buy the Akra in the morning
Scotty
Would love to, I really would .... but the whole idea of getting this particular bike was that it's a cheap track toy. I don't want it to be the loveliest thing on the planet. As it is it's a mint bike but it's 12 years old and owes me just £3k. I'd be gutted to bin it but the whole notion is to limit the expense etc. If I bought an exhaust then I'd feel obliged to get a PCiii and dyno time etc which then all adds up. Today's cheap tweak will be fitting a "Hairy Rs" quick action throttle - it's a plastic clip to make it 1/5th turn to WOT. I think the most expensive thing I'll throw at it will by the Supercorsa's!
