Yup. I like Madge, got a lot of her stuff in the house. Sadly, the world wants to mock anything these days and ****y social media is its highlight. People have seriously got **** all better to do than repost her fall clip with "Hahaha" comments. And people wonder why i deleted FB from my phone on Jan 1st. Sickipedia was alive with jokes just minutes after the incident. Its the nature of the beast with an internet connection these days.

Social media, even the name sounds like it was thought up by an utter ****.

I often find myself wondering why I bother with social media, however, I think it's too easy to blame the platform that allows these people to spout their verbal diarrhea rather than the actual people themselves.

 

You can then take it in one of two ways, delete everyone who makes stupid/ignorant/abusive/offensive etc comments, and only have people on it you actually like, or use it as a tool to determine who those people are that hold views you might otherwise not have known about, and decide if you want to spend more/less time with them in person.

 

I tend to do the latter, so don't delete people who say things I think are particularly stupid/racist etc etc, at least that way, I know what I'm dealing with and can decide that I don't really want to spend time with them in 'real life' or even occasionally call them a div and point out where they are (imo) going wrong.

"The Internet" - that gets blamed a lot.

 

It's like going back 100 years and saying that people are racist/stupid/biased/ignorant etc because of, no, don't say it, "the dashed telephone system" 

 

The Internet is the road network.  Social media is the vehicle. Too many people drive on the road network like twunts because they perceive they are invincible, because it's virtual
