cruiser647
I need to update my MMI, so got intouch with Audi Hatfield. and asked about any TB that might need installing too. No TBs, no warranty work BUT they did say I'd need 2 MMI updates. They also said it would take 2 hours and nigh on £300. I might be cheeky and ask if they can do it for 1 hr. I beleive the update removes the pesky power management setting that is bugging me and stopping the Bluetooth from working properly for my phone. Or can anyone on here do it for me? Mo-S3
What model do you have? MMI 2G or 3G?
cruiser647
Oooh, I think it's a 3G 54 plate A8. Here's a picture (bad one) of the MMI version and firmware numbers
chasdrury
It's a 2g mmi. 3G came with the facelift iirc. Does your phone connect at all on Bluetooth - most of them in 2004 had the Motorola in armrest phone which means you need a new Bluetooth module to connect a normal phone to it

My phone (Lumia) connects as soon as I am close to the car. I have been using it loads on bluetooth. That was when the battery reading on the MMI was 22%. Now it's at 10%, the speakers are fine, but the in-car mic has been disabled. The radio turns off after 5 minutes or so of having the engine turned off. They are the most noticable things. cruiser647
I have seen many on ebay. Is it an easy procedure to update? Is it worth the risk?
cruiser647
Done! Bought the discs on ebay from a reputable seller (I know, on ebay!!!), followed the instructions from the Audi PDF and it was done. Also got a new DVD Nav disc. Am upto 5570 now. Thanks Mo & Chas! Saved me a lot of hassle and cash!
