JayBeeS3
[ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] the gauge will not be a projectile otherwise you would also get the trimming of the A-pillar in yer face when the airbag deploys....... [/ QUOTE ] unless its designed to stay intact and just split at a weak point.... there is no way id ever fit something infront of, ontop of an airbag knowingly. please be sensible guys! [/ QUOTE ] true, true...... but fixing it to the trimming cant hurt, can it? I mean if the trimming splits open on a weak point (I guess that also applies to the dash airbag, otherwise you would get the whole dash in your face) then the gauge would still be on the A-pillar trimming? (fixed)? I had my share of accidents and never ever did an airbag deploy, even in my last (so far) accident when a car hit me against the B-pillar at 25mph or so, my seat airbag didnt deploy.... eventho the B-pillar was firmly against the seat (about 15cms inwards). Yeah, there's some expansion, but just as a std airbag is forced OUT towards the driver/passenger, the SideGuard explodes DOWN from the trim, right? Drillslinger
Hmm, well, I'm waiting on price info on a LHD version of this: What do y'all think is an OK price?
Drillslinger
OK, I've been checking out Club1.8T and seen a dude called "TheArtfulDubber" do this on his GTI What do y'all think? Yeah, it'd block my view of the clock a little, but avoids any airbag issue, PLUS has a good eyeline.

Paul
This one. id have one, but they dont have a version for CanBus cars, and i think im knackered anyway even if they did, as IIRC it uses a (normaly spare) plug, that my sat nav uses
