I seem to get a very small coolant leak depending on whether i park the car facing up the hill (very small leak & not all the time maybe once a month).....if i park facing down the way no leak.......could i be something to do with the small plastic pipe that connects to the oil cooler....i read about this on the audiworld forum....anyone have any ideas and if it is this what the kindly stealers will charge me it get it fixed.......in 2000 miles of motoring never had the coolant warning come on yet.......thanks stv

Can't think of a reason why it might do that only when parked face up a slope. But it's fairly easy to test the cooling system for leaks with a pressure pump on the filler. It must be pumped to 1 bar and be able to remain that pressure.

See if you can find the spot where it appears to leak.

Meanwhile, keep an eye on the coolant level, see if it drops over time.

As Sneaky says, it may perhaps be the aircon? That's quite normal.

Thanks guys for the suggestions.....i thought it might be the aircon but i ckecked the fluid patch on the ground and it had a greenish tinge to it and it tasted sweet...so im thinking coolant....coolant level in the expansion take seems constant...have had no warning lights....is there an over flow pipe anywhere under the car that may throw out excess fluid....also temp gauge never goes above the 90 mark

If I remember correctly, you had your Cambelt done recently by the stealer?

If so, they would have topped up the coolant. Knowing a stealer, they probably put much more water in it than concentrate coollant........ Maybe the level drop is due to you having way too much water in the system and it evaporating away, and making it's way out somehwere????

Possible?????
