fatcat
A game of two halves......... Great attitude from Blackcircles when I ordered my Pirellis and shite performance from STS who fitted them. First they damaged all my wheelnut covers and lost 2 of my centre wheel caps. but they have also forgotten to return my security wheel nut to its rightful place. They replaced the covers. They 'will' replace my missing wheel caps. and hopefully they will drop off my security thingee sometime today.......... Is changing tyres so hard Buffoons
Tomk
yup i had the same thing with blackcircles , great when ordering but sts from my local town were terible, took an hour to do one tyre keeping me waiting, watching the bloke just sat there , between cup of tee and a fag , moving the wheel , puttnig it back down etc, was not happy at all for a 5 min job i wasted a whole morning , i wont be using them again

Paul
i swear by my local STS, they are brillaint when it comes down to putting up with me being fussy about my wheels. and not damaging/loosing anything.. alos no quibble when i claimed on their tyre insurance. I wouldnt go anywhere else, unless i was really stuck. Must be a luck of the draw between franchises.
fatcat
Ok boys this gets much much worse....... I can't fecking believe this. This my car has been in for it's 20k service, so then the techie gives me a call and says that both front seals behind the front wheels have been crushed......... just as if they had been used as jacking points (and they had). So, instead of STS using the correct jacking points they used the first bit of free area they could find. IT'S NOT FECKING ROCKET SCIENCE IS IT.... R32North
Sorry to hear that mate..... I was pretty worried when I took my tyres to Kwik Fit to get fitted, and the manager chap was well worried. kept going on.... "oh, didn't realise they were that big",... "we can't held responsible for any scratches"... etc etc, But the wee tyre fitters were well pleased they were getting to fit out an R32 with new rubber they took their time and made extra sure everything went well - took just under 1 1/2 hours to do 4 tyres and there was two of them!!!!! But not scracth, all nuts, caps and the like back in place, wheels torqued up except the locking nuts which they didn't want to do as they might damage the spline/grooves on the lock bit. I have to say a big THANKS to Kwik Fit in Livingston for a job well done

jam69
I'd just like to say that anyone can become a tyre fitter because its a low paid job that doesnt need even a GCSE to do it. Companies take on any herbert who likes cars and gives them "training" and maybe a C&G qualification. Unfortunately you cant get common sense or initiative so easily. There are some excellent fitters out there who are good because they have a passion for what they do-its not about the money, for them, its about how well they can do their job. STS Colchester has had one or two such fitters but due to the firm behaving like Kwik Fit they lost them.
PhilipdeCadenet
Continuing on this thread. I'll soon need some 285/40's fitted and I'd appreciate any recommended tyre fitter in London, Herts or Essex areas. One who has the machine capable of fitting the tyre without touching the wheel and can also balance acurately. Thanks. Phil
