Whats the Clio V6 really like compared to the 182?

Picked up my mate's brand spanking black/gold Clio V6 on Wednesday, looks evil in black, so many people staring as we drove back in convoy. He was a bit peaved it had 30 miles on the clock when he picked it up (my 182 had 2 miles on it), also there's loads of scuffs on the sill as you get in, looks like plenty of mechanics have been "test driving" it !!! He's rightly kicking up a fuss, the scratches are really bad, I'd be pissed off buying a brand new car and garage employees can't be arsed to lift their feet up when getting in and out.

I used to have a 172 and then a 172 Cup. Driven a 182 with Cup pack and was really impressed with it. Bags of grip, not much body roll, sounded good ( for a 2l wink.gif ).

The V6 however is quite alot faster, the sound is awesome, it has a stupid amount of grip as long as you dont unsettle it. The main difference is the 182 is easy to drive fast and easy to master, the V6 is more difficult to master but it is so much more rewarding. It puts a smile on your face evry time you drive it.

JasT, are you going to run an R32sport.net now then grin.gif

I had roughly 2 hours in the Clio V6 too and what enjoyable 2 hours they were. In your opinion is the Clio V6 a more enjoyable proposition than the R32 if you completely ingore the practicality of the Golf? I had an R32 last year for a few months and thoroughly enjoyed it but I must admit I kept having a look at the V6 Clio at the 2002 motorshow and thinking to myself what a fantastic looking car but at the time I couldn't get friends and family discount on the Renault. wink.gif

Ha ha, no r32Sport.net, car clubs take far too much effort to run! crazy.gif

The v6 is an amazing car, you either love or hate it's looks. I was looking at buying one 18 months ago, but now I have a son a 2-seater just can't be justified (hence the 5-door R32). Also the R32 looks more sedate, and to be honest is just a great all-rounder car, seems to work well in almost any situation. The same can't be said for the v6 unfortunately, although it's still highly recommended in my books. You will need another car if you're going to have a v6, you can't pop to the supermarket in it, or leave it in even a slightly dodgy place, without fear of it getting nicked or vandalised.

Hey guys, am very keen to get a second hand V6 (mark 2) and was just wondering what people's views are on the best colour. I quite like the idea of a black v6, but have never seen one in black, only in the blue. What's your opinion as to the best colour? Cheers.
