I thought a trannie was a bloke who likes to dress up in ladies things

Not so. It's a transit van.

However I do feel able to comment here as I had the same experience with my chainsaw.

Simply remove the anti-kick back device. You just need to pull the lever which is under the handle. It should make an audible click. Notice how it loses it's stiffness? Don't worry. This now will enable you remove the chain cover. Once the chain cover is off you'll be able to see a couple of 13mm nuts halfway down the middle of the blade. You'll need to loosen these - in fact remove them all together. Don't forget to put the nuts in a safe place, preferably a small tin can or such.

Now gently pull the blade away from the gear wheel. That should fix it.

Let me know how you get on please.

Nope, with tip it should get close to 6500 (4.2 does) At 2.5k, it's changing way too early. It will change if in Drive mode, because the tiptronic box does shift quite low down in the rev range.

Isnt there a couple of things I've read about setting the shift patterns on these g/boxes. 1) VAG.com 2)summit like switching stuff on or off for x-amount of time (summit similar to resetting the leccy windows? confused.gif) Someone help me out here! blush.gif

Did you buy it from a stealer? The Audi UK site says: Parts covered for cars over 4 years of any mileage: Gearbox (Automatic or manual): All internal parts, gear selection linkages and ECU's; automatic selection switchgear; reverse light switch.
