Wobby
Hi all, I have a passat 2001 TDI with a dealer fitted alarm. What i am looking for, is a way to turn off the internal ultrasonic sensor but lock the doors and set the rest of the alarm. The manual says pressing the lock button immediately after locking flashes the lights and turns off interior sensor. Sadly it doesn't. What i have noticed is a button low down near where the drivers seat beltcomes out, i ahave tried pressing this but got nowhere! Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance
Munki
That button works on my car (down by the drivers door/seatbelt) and I have left my little brother, nephew and neice in the car and locked it without a problem. Don't have any other suggestions other than press the button harder next time
felixthecat1
Welcome, I agree, I've had no problems with the button. There is quite a positive click when you press it so, if it's not working (and you have checked it properly) then I would had back to the dealer and get him to investigate and fit it. Wobby
Yes, there is a positive click when i press the button. Sadly the manual has no info regarding the button. When do you press it? Do you press the button, close the door and press the normal lock button on the key fob? or is there a correct way to do it. Thanks
felixthecat1
Right first time. Turn off the ignition, press the button, get out and set the alarm as normal. It resets itself on the deactivation of the alarm when you return.
jojo
It should have a red LED that lights up when you press it, to confirm that it has deactivated the internal sensors.
felixthecat1
It lights up but I'm not sure about LEDs. Shouldn't you update that avatar?
Wobby
Thanks for the help. I am sure i tried pressing it before and locking with keyfob and alarm went off when the dog moved. Anyway, i tried it today and locked wife in car. It didn't go off!!!! So its working ok. Munki
Nice one. Hopefuly she went to the loo before you locked her in. r perhaps she'll just open the door and let herself out, because I think that setting also de-activates the deadlocks.
