Rustynuts
Just got a letter from the solicitor. We have to go back to court again in March to fight with wifey's ex husband over the kids & suchlike. Why won't he just bugger off and die. It's gonna cost us another £1000 just for a Barrister for a day, as well as the cost of the solicitor to instruct the Barrister cos that's how it works! That's the planned holiday gone down the feckin' river this year. There's just a chance that we can do this by video link, as tw@tface lives in the States, and if he can't get to this country for the hearing, we may be able to do it electronically. It might save us the money for the barry in which case I'll be happier. But, then again, he hasn't got a computer anymore, since the FBI raided his house looking for nasty stuff (hence us going to court to stop the kids having to see him) so knowing my feckin luck, he'll be here to bleed more money off us. It's a long story and it's been going on for 5 years now every year. And I know some of this won't make sense and I'm too tired to explain it all, but just needed a rant. Wifey won't sleep tonight for worrying, which means I won't either. Damn and bugger. Mods, censor this if you think necessary.

Snail
Would it not be cheaper just to hire a hitman, and sort the problem once and for all Especially with the good exchange rate with america
Rustynuts
[ QUOTE ] Would it not be cheaper just to hire a hitman, and sort the problem once and for all Especially with the good exchange rate with america [/ QUOTE ] It has been discussed. but our solicitor advised us against it in this case, as the chances are damn good that this time we'll finish it in court. Interesting that he advised against it in this case! Got a meeting with him this afternoon so we'll know a bit more after that.
UBM
I can temporarily dazzle him...! Anyway, good luck, Hope it all works out for you.
squiffy
Obviously I don't know the full story here, but I don't think this guy is being unreasonable in going to court if you are trying to stop him from seeing his kids.
Rustynuts
Edited and deleted after some thought (and a gentle nudge from someone). Thanks for the pointer S D. If you were quick enough to read the post perhaps you'll understand.
squiffy
Was it a response to my comment? No insult was intended - as I said, I don't know the full facts. But on the face of it, fighting for access to your kids isn't something to be condemned.

Pincher
Cruiser - caught your un-edited post last night and I reckon the whole of TSN would be right behind you on this one. Hope all goes well for you.

loddrik
I'd just do him in and go to jail. Hang on a minute, that's not necessarily the most mate and responsible way to hadle it is it?
Rustynuts
Thanks for the support, guys. After the meet with the solicitor yesterday afternoon, what a result! He's a sneaky bugger at times, cos he told us that the last time the barry didn't charge us the full day and we're in credit. He's asked for a lot less than we were expecting to cover costs as we were in credit. So, biting the bullet tonight we've been planning the holiday, hoping we can manage to afford it and that the kids will be with us to actually go. It's gonna be tight for spending money, unless I can swing some good earners over the next few months, so hopefully we'll be going. Not trying to sound like a man hard up but last years holiday was 4 days in one of Blackpools cheapest (and worst) hotels. And that was as far as funds would allow. It was nice to come back home! Thanks again.
Rustynuts
Slight update, Idiot sent the wife a Valentines card proclaiming eternal love etc. Also Emails saying the same thing. Booked the holiday so feel a bit better with that one. Card's in the bin! Email address will be changed!
delibird
Fill out an injunction against the guy. If the FBI are looking into him then it sounds like you've got a pretty open and shut case. Good luck anyway and enjoy your holiday when you come to take it
Rustynuts
Hey, here we go. Tomorrow's the day, and our solicitor says the ex hasn't made any statement to the Court, and we've had ne correspondence lately either. Wifey's shitting herself, cos she always gets worked up when things like this happen. On a (slightly) lighter note, the wife had a meeting with the solicitor a few days ago, and kept referring to our "Barry" who is going to cost us a few £££ for the day. After about the third time, the solicitor pointed out to her that he wasn't actually called Barry, but his name was (I think) Keith. I can only presume that she took my calling him barry (as in barrister) a little literally. Ain't she sweet!
cruiser647
Good luck! Lock him up - chuck away the key. Where's that prison ship gone? Rustynuts
Well, it's still not finished! The clerk double booked the Court and we didn't get in until after 3.00, then ran over the end of the day and still not finished. Court's closed tomorrow, but the Judge (bless him) has agreed to open up specially for this case to get it finished. Not often you see that sort of thing, is it. Anyway, another half day for Barry and the Solicitor, thanks to their cock-up. but we're getting there.
