what you need to do (I'm being serious for a sec), is losen your wheel bolts and get some blocks of wood 5mm, 10mm, 16mm, 20mm, and 25mm thick (or card etc)

pull the wheels out by the respective distance and insert blob to check you've got distance ok and see how you like the look of it.

important notes:

1) pull wheels too far off and your car will collapse grin.gif

2) take pics for us to see and comment 169144-ok.gif

So Audi spend millions of pounds getting the suspension, geometry, angles, ride, handling etc.

Then we come along and say "I'll just move the wheels a bit so it looks nicer".

No! Don't do it... NONO3.GIF

there's always room for improvement grin.gif

widening the track puts a bit more stress on the suspension, but can increase stability when cornering etc

Haaa haa ha

well i will break the mould.

Ive had (had to) have spacers on both of My S3's due to the Porsche brakes.

10mm front , 15mm rear.

ignoring the first S3's 1500 odd mile, I have done 25K + miles with this S3 and had no problems at all.

Just buy good spacers, and the correct bolts/lockers

Thanks guys. I think it was more along the lines of ask a DTM suspension technician and not on £26k car Flush.gif

But what do I know it might be the best thing you ever did (untill a wheel falls off) grin.gif

bought mine from AMD, part of the brake fitting kit.

i need Minimum 10mm for front brakes.

15mm rear are purely cosmetic, and also bring out track to match.

spacers just sit between , and are sandwiched, by the longer bolts.

They sit on a conical seat, to centre/align (hubcentric)

to make wheels easier to refit, ive had a ally peg made up to screw into a bolt hole to help line everything up.

Audi do supply a plastic one anyway, but they are not upto much and the threads usually shred, after a couple of uses.

Hey Bub,

Cheers - couldn't find the thread.

So, do you have any links or anything? Or, is it really a bad idea....

I think Paul-S3 is your man DM 169144-ok.gif

I've just never liked the idea of spacers and like Ari says you really need to check geometry angles after so you dont scrub tyres, 'uck the steering up , that sort of thing.
