Aye almost the weekend, and hopefully good weather.....well good enough to take the roof down and have a nice drive out to the coast.

anyways, regarding finances. I was quite disappointed with BMWs own finance as they seemed to be taking ages going through most of their options. Their own finance to me didnt seem that competitive and I raised this issue with the salesman.

He suggested that I consider Black Horse as a source of finance for the car, and after checking it out...with good rates and a better deal that BMW, they offered me the finance the following day.

So Black Horse might be another option, well worth checking out. Hope this helps Mattey

Do some research to get an idea of what a competitive rate is - the supermarkets are normally pretty competitive as are Lombard Direct. Then get BMW finance to beat the quote.

If you are not a high risk, you should be looking for an APR of less than 7.0%. Don't get fobbed off by quotes on a 'flat rate' basis, the APR is the only true way to compare the cost of a loan.

For comparison, I think my £15k loan was costing me £440 per month over 3 years with BMW finance (APR about 6.5%, flat rate less than 2%).

Argh! Avoid car dealer finance. It's usually terrible! Find the best deal personal loand you can from a bank or whatever. A good place to compare personal loans is www.moneysupermarket.co.uk (assuming u are UK based!).

Hope that helps.

Not true. I've seen some superb deals available from BMW and Porsche dealers over the years. Granted your average carsupermarket will try and have you over a barrel, but you'd be surprised at what you can achieve sometimes when there are good residuals values involved.....
