websterm
without going to my local VW stealer can anyone recommend alternative places to buy front & rear carpet mats for the better half's 2000 Passat (in black)?

[/ QUOTE ] You could try email vagparts.com, why not go to the stealers?, they are not overly priced for carpets IIRC, and they come with the plastic holes which secures them to the plastic nobs in the car. Munki
I think mine only cost £20 inc. I looked in ebay and they were much more expensive.
asta
i read a price of £65 for passat mats from vw! the ones i got from halfords fit nicely in the front but are too small for the back. im gonna make two holes in the front ones for the built in studs. you could try www.carmats4u.co.uk or http://www.gbdriver.co.uk/acatalog/car_mats.html and get custom fit ones
websterm
I spoke to a really helpful bloke in the York parts department who has told me of 3 different types of carpet mats: 1-factory fit (£42 front £29 rear) 2-VW after market luxury (£45 set) 3-VW after market standard (£30 set) From what he's said there is little difference between option 1 &
shao_khan
I know a lot of folks with New Beetles that take the dealer ones because they aer (were) cheaper than factory fit and just as good quality. Another company is http://www.justmatz.co.uk/, I think it is ran by Dave Kumar who is a VW enthusiast as well.
