From the distance I've read it at I think you can wash the car and then there is also some sort of wax program after that as well. Anyone had any experience of these Jet washes ? S3Bangs Posted April 8, 2003 Report Share Posted April 8, 2003 I use these once in a while when I cant be arsed to setup the Karcher washer I have at home but never ever use those brushes they provide... I would normally take my bucket with me and wash with my own washing stuff as those brushes fall on the floor and mostly always have sand and grit in them... If you use it for shampooing and rinsing only, I think you should be fine... As for the wax stuff... I just dont trust the stuff... I stick to meguiars.. Bushy Posted April 8, 2003 Report Share Posted April 8, 2003 My understanding is that the jet washers on garage forecourts recycle the water as a normal car wash as the business premises have metered water so they try and cut costss by recycling Therefore there is a danger that there is grit or other abrasives in the water and as mentioned the brush may have been dropped on the floor more than once So IMHO its a NO NO Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

ChasM Posted April 8, 2003 Author Report Share Posted April 8, 2003 Reet, sounds like a garage jet wash is probably a no-no then. I washed and waxed it myself last w/e but looking at it now, there are a few swirl marks and dust sticks to it like nothing on earth. I bought some Audi products when I got the car and used those. The wash fluid is fine I think but I'm not sure if it's my own inept attempt at waxing it or the wax itself that has left these swirls. Think I'll just take it to one of those "American style" hand wash and vallet places next time. I pass one on the way to work. Worth paying a bit extra for IMO for a professional job.
