skifly
Was out last night and met a really nice teacher - very quiet and a think a bit startled as there were so many of us out but ended up doing the cheeky kiss thing and she asked me to call her... Simple question for you all then as you seem to be doing so well for our 1-series lover (a_s) - what do you reckon my plan of action from here should be? Leave it a couple of days then text or just plain call her sunday afternoon? Also was very pissed off last night - i talked to a friend of mine's mate who was blatantly gay just doing the social conversation thing and within about 2 mins and without warning he changes from talking about work (he used to work at place where my houesmate works now) to grabbing me and wrapping himself around me while telling me that he likes men! Was so close to flattening him. WTF was he thinking - dont even think he was pissed either or joking. What the hell do you do in that situation... ? Omi
You smile, give him a hug and tell him it's not your scene, but that you're glad he's happy. On the other thing, text her this afternoon: "I had a lovely dream last night that I was dancing with this stunning girl and got a cheeky kiss, then when I woke up this number was in my phone..." She'll either reply instantly (she's watching her phone, trust me) or will leave you hanging for a couple of days. - Nothing wrong with showing her you're keen though, you obviously seem to be quite taken with the girl. Good luck!
Sparky
Yeah I agree with Omi with both issues. Good luck with it
FiftyPence
I read somewhere girls will tend to wait a couple of days before texting you so that just when you think nothing is gonna happen, you get a beaming smile from ear to ear when you do finally hear something out of the blue. So with that in mind, you could wait a day or two but on the flipside, if i was you i would want to text or call straight away to get things moving. Good luck though And on the gay mate thing, maybe he felt you are a total homophobe and was putting it in your face to see how you would react
skifly
50 - have quite a few gay mates but having seen a few of them pull when out i know for sure gay blokes dont act like that - seriosuly dont expect anyone to pretty much maul me and start trying to suck my ear for no reason... plus i had been all over a couple of women so it was obvious i wasnt gay... if he had been coming on to me anything like i have seen before i would have quite happily told him i didnt play that game. Still onto the interesting bit i will text her in a sec - tempted to use omi's text - quite like it but worried as she was very shy - she may think its a little too forward ?!? Think i might be over analysing this a little! Think i am just too nice to women i like...! Ah well - will let all know how it goes!
FiftyPence
good luck lad and if it goes pear shaped youve always got your gay mate to fall back on........literally
Mollox
Maybe she thought you were gay and so not a threat? Screw all the psychology, call her now and sort something out for tonight! Oh and hurry up and tell us what happens
skifly
sent her a message as i was at a bbq last night so couldnt meet up with her anyways - but still not got a response as yet! She was quite nice too! Oh and dont worry - she wasnt in any doubt about me being straight! Although did find out one of the girls i lived with at uni who is quite attractive (and absolutely loaded) split up with her long term bloke on friday night. Well I can have dreams cant I? FiftyPence
see now i think this girl is making you play the waiting game. Shes probably on the phone to her mates asking them what they think she should do: 'Do i wait to reply so hes gagging for it, or do i reply right now cos i want him so bad' Thats what shes thinking i reckon, good luck and keep us posted
Omi
Or, of course... "My God, I was so off my trolley the other night and there was this bloke trying to chat me up and I think I gave him my number!" :'(
skifly
cheers omi - although probably the case!! She did seem a little taken aback by all the people i was out with - they are all fairly loud (mostly south african) - will have to wait and see... will keep all posted though. Mollox
Still no answer? Have you got a delivery report on the text? You should have called her
ian_m
just call her! atleast you will know one way or the other!
randellp
Now you have texted, you should wait for her reply. That's the price you pay for "easy" comms! You might come across as a bit too keen if you follow up before she replies. If you want to show you are serious, need an answer immediately, or even force the issue (how much easier is it to say "no" by text than on the phone!), you should always ring (I fond it's also the same with people at work). Phoning is a nice personal touch, it will be appreciated and you can get a lot more out of a telephone conversation than a few words in a text (or email). Good luck mate - hope she gets back to you soon!
skifly
oh well... shame as she was nice - think i may give her a call on thurs just to see if she happens to be around canary wharf for a quick drink? Sure i will get some opinions on this? Wish i had phoned in the first place! Oh well - called a friend last night as i havent heard from her in ages and suggested a drink/catch up... and this morning i get an email asking where i am taking her on our date?!??! (There was no mention of a date before!) Guessing it may be a wind up though so will send a dodgy reply...
randellp
Never know - she is probably talking it over with her buddies first - and she may be so shy she's having trouble replying to your text (although that in itself would worry me!) The other girl sounds promising even if she's having a laugh with you (or just after a few free drinks & dinner)! All in all, it sounds like you don't seem to be having any trouble in the lady department, so have fun and good luck!
skifly
you wouldnt believe the trouble i have had in that dept!! one bad choice i defo shouldnt have let go, 2 psycho ex's (not my fault), one dodgy bird who just wanted casual when she wanted it (plus me as a taxi), one who just wanted me for the car i had (borrowed company car a while back) and two i want but cant have (one is 18 and going out with suspected druggie dealer, and one is 19 but scared to be without her current bloke even though doesnt like him). Actually think they may be a little young for me though as i am 25 soon - is that bad? Well - also need ideas for where to go as she will be coming into London from wimbledon - guess that means thameslink to somewhere city way or around waterloo. Am ok with the city places but anyone know anywhere within walking distance of waterloo that is fairly funky but still quiet enough to have a bit of a relaxed chat but also has the right atmosphere if the conversation decides to takea back seat for a while... simonb
Dilemma mate - what to do?!?! Wouldn't recommend any women tonight mate after what's happened with me and mine - see thread 'Big Fall Out - wedding off?' - but i don't mean to put a dampener. Guess you're in the great stage of first dates - take you pick stage. Like picking a new car - but free. Hmm - do you go for the racy good looking sport car that goes like the clappers for a bit of fun, or the more sensible, reliable middle of the range model that does go - just not quite as quick as the other, yet is a lot nicer to be with on an everyday basis? Decisions decisions - best of luck mate!
skifly
there's no choice if there is only one!! Hope all works itself out for you!

MattR32
I terrible at past histories. Handy as I married a girl I met who was 17 (I was 20) with no previous proper boyfriend. We married at 21 and 24 (me). Sounds tricky though.
skifly
well as you may be able to work out from the time of the post all didnt go the fun direction with the old friend i was meeting up with. Was just very friendly and seemed like more of a catch up than anything else! Will probably get her to come out a bit with friends etc... but her bloody mobile never stopped - probably longest it went silent for was 5 mins - prob explains her near on £1k bill last month -seriously she had it with her! (Daddy paid ) Oh and found out she is 23 and driving around in a 40k SLK and hates it so might change again (all on dads CC)... i want some of that!!! Still waiting for the teacher to reply - not holding out any hope any more. Onwards and upwards I reckon!
nightmare
the high end model; could be costy long term but teachers are more reliable and cost efficent
skifly
well - never got a reply from the teacher. Defo not going to go sending more messages. On a slightly more interesting note did meet a certain young lady who, although not strictly my type, has managed to keep me entertained for the last week or so. She would also be very interesting to you guys on here but will keep that one under my hat for a little while longer but needless to say she put me to shame with her love of cars (and not just a little bit)!!
