Mollox
Just seen photos of the Navman icn 510 and I think it looks a lot sexier (and smaller) than the TomTom 700. piccies here Question is, is it any good? Has anyone got it? Is it the top of the range Navman? Is it as portable as the TomTom or does this one need to be hardwired in? Thoughts appreciated Merci Beaucoup, ta
Mollox
Ooh just noticed there's a 650 Here I do like the sound of TomTom, I just have an issue with the look of the screen - especially its depth...

CarMad
Mollox, my Dad has the 510. There is a new model out soon with updated maps and software Navman 520I. It is smaller than the Tomtom and can be put in his pocket etc. but he wishes he had gone for the Tomtom even with the size issue which was his problem with it as well. He has had it lock up on him 3 times in a journey back up from Southampton. They are slow at providing fixes and updates. Tomtom have provided many updates and it has way more features. The tomtom is louder as well along with other things. Have a look at PocketGPS for the latest news on the new model.

boltona
I have the basic 510, and have not had any problems from day one, speed camera database all loaded etc. Is very useful that it has battery power so you can set the route up etc before you get in the car. I am looking to get the european maps too. One point to note taht a couple of new bypasses are not listed (a120 at stansted etc), but these are not on teh TomTom either. The form factor is great and it is easy to use. I think it is a case of have a look at the style of both for the maps and display and see which suits you best.
