[Audi A3/S3] Tyres

I need 4 new tyres for my S3, I've had a set of Potenza RE040, a set of Conti Sport and my current ones are Potenza S03's.

Are the Goodyear's that everyone rates called GSD1's? What are the differences between them and GSD3 F1's?

GSD3 is the latest Eagle F1 designation and superceded the GSD1s

REO40s were on when the car was new and I wasn't much of a fan of. People on here pretty much hated them. Not tried the S03s but understand they're quite a soft compound??

RRP for 4 x 225/45 ZR 17 Eagle F1s will be around £660

I got my last 2 sets for £362 from Bracknell Tyre and Battery

Yeah the S03's are quite soft, but pretty grippy. I've had 13k from them I think, but they are totally knackered now at about 1.5mm front and 1.6mm back.

I've priced 4 x GSD3's from a place my Dad deals with, they are quoting me £400 including VAT, and I can get the VAT back.

I think I'll go for them, saying as I've always heard good things about the GSD1's on TSN.

Why not go for Kumho or Falken's? They arent that bad. Ive heard a lot of people are running these and are very happy woth them. and for around £240 a set its cheap too.

£400 is about the right price for 4 18" GSD3's and about £90 a corner for the 17" version. I think they saw you coming Mollox

Paid £103 for 18" F1s a couple of weeks ago. Prices are coming down all the time for larger tyres as they're getting more common.
