Do other people's sport models do the same or have I got worn out components somewhere? I dont mind replacing worn out parts as the car has covered 102k now. Mook Posted September 28, 2005 Report Share Posted September 28, 2005 No, not at all. My wife's TDI Sport Estate is a fantastically quiet smooth ride on the motorways. Any chance the suspension on yours has been modified by a previous owner? Although at 102K, there are doubtless some bushes that would benefit from being replaced. Mook Posted September 28, 2005 Report Share Posted September 28, 2005 If the shocks are gone, the ride will be soft, not harsh - from your original post it sounds like bushes, but there are lots that will need checking, including the ones for the anti roll bars. Its a bit like if you have really low profile tyres, but I'm running on the standard 16" alloys with 205/55/16 tyres. On a seperate note I was pleasantly surprised with the handling of the wifes new car. I've only ever driven SE spec diesels before which handled like boats, but the slightly lower, firmer suspension of the sport model makes the car pretty acceptable. So bushes are suspect then.
