Ari
Wanted a cheapy for the kitchen, but wanted widescreen (cos most TV programs are widescreen these days). Got this little fella for £280 from Comet which I didn't think was bad. Attractive looking set, crisp picture, and perfectly adequate for the purpose although don't think you'd want to watch movies on it as the "refresh rate" (is that the right term?) doesn't seem quite quick enough so picture can be ever so slightly jerky at times. Anyway, not bad for under £300 I thought. Linky
Thorburn
Looks pretty nice Its not the refresh rate however as thats 60Hz on all LCD monitors, its the response time (how long it takes the pixels to change from one value to another) that matters for fast action. gizze
Looks good, we need one for the litchen too, I will have a look. And yeah it is the refresh rate, most digital displays convert everything to their internal refresh, and that is usually 60Hz, however as we live in Pal world where everything is 50hz you have do add an extra 10 frames a second, the onlly way you can do this is show the 3rd frame twice and then the second frame after that twice, this obviously causes judder. Alot of people don't even notice it though.
