shark_90
[ QUOTE ] so how is it going so far? how about a two week report? See if you can get a group buy. some people [/ QUOTE ] Some people indeed! I think a groupbuy discount is out of the question, but if we all got together in one place and he did several cars at once, obviously it would work out cheaper as he wouldn't be charging travelling expenses etc. Definately worth a shot, and I wouldn't mind coordinating it

UBM
I'm tempted, BUT the car is running really well now. In fact, any more torque and the old wheel spin/torque steer would be back!
P_G
[ QUOTE ] Going very well to be honest. Fuel consumption is possibly a little bit worse, but I'm only going by the DIS and I'm still getting >50mpg unless I'm thrashing it (which is rather tempting!) I'm steadily learning how to drive it and where is good for what situation, now I have more torque it's plenty easy enough to overtake in 4th at around 60 or even 5th if you have a bit more room to get her going. Even Graeme (P_G) commented on how quick it is, and he drives an S4! £190 well spent! [/ QUOTE ] It was nippy, v. impressed, and no soot either. But as you said, it runs out of gears pretty quickly and thats when V8 power kicks in... standstill to 105 in 4th gear, who needs a DB7 GT Clarkson! Does he do V8's as well?? P_G
Was it something I said?? Ben, could you find out if your man does S4 remaps as well? Much appreciated
MikeA2B
Shark can you send me his details?, im not too pleased with this tuning box i have fitted to my 2.5 TDI, Since fitting I have noticed a lot more smoke and a seriously bad vibration from the prop shaft or rear axle when accellerating from low revs, and what seems like an intermittant clutch slip too. On the plus point though, theres plenty more torque than before. Cheers Mike
shark_90
Mike.. I had the same problem with the vibration you're talking about with the tuning box. It does still do it a little with the remap, but only in certain situations at low revs when the turbo is boosting hard. I've PM'd you his details
MikeA2B
Thank fook for that! I thought my diff was about to die! Thats right, the vibration comes when you put your foot down at about 1500rpm through to about 2500rpm Thanks for the post M8!

I'm getting a call later this afternoon with prices and figures. How may people interested would be able to get to the meet in Harrogate on November 20th and I'll see if he would be prepared to meet us there/ group discount? shark_90
Sorry guys and gals, I've been working away and I've been a very busy chap. This thread has gone mad while I've been away. Whoever posted the website, yes that is Will's site. Will just tried to call me, I've just called him back and left him a voicemail. I'll try to get around to PM'ing you all later on! UBM
Good plan PG - can he do it there and then? I'm still not overly convinced about remapping mine, but it would be useful if he was there maybe?
P_G
He said he can do three of four cars, approx 1-1.5 hours each. Depends on how long all of us stick around for and if anyone interested would be prepared to get there early to have the remap done. Will has said his travel costs are 20p per mile and the remap, so even if three inlcuding me were interested it saves him time and us money on travel costs. Might even be able to hagggle him for a discount. Shark, have you heard any more from Will today?
shark_90
I haven't mate, no. But I haven't tried to ring him since earlier. It might be easier to communicate with him via email?
