1. I got a cheap quote from, i think but am not positive, swift cover. When i read their terms, they said in the event of an accident that they may use "recycled parts" and could, if they see fit, use non oe parts of "similar quality"!!! With my luck i'd have a prang and they would see fit to use both cheap AND second hand parts.
2. [/ QUOTE ] Those two sets of roadworks on the A34 (Chilton and Whitchurch) are an absolute nightmare [/ QUOTE ] every time i go through there a disticnt lack of workmen. Given the volume of traffic you'd think they'd sort it pronto!!
3. Got the discs via will, Thanks will!! Put disc in and it loaded itself in 10 minutes. Came down the A34 3 hours ago and the unit tried to re-direct me.... I KNEW BETTER!! Sat on the A34 for an hour and didn't move Who's the twat then Brilliant, next time i'll listen, HONEST Thanks for your help guys, much appreciated
4. [ QUOTE ] They are now on there way to you Gerry [/ QUOTE ] Total gent, thanks
5. [ QUOTE ] Agreed with Daz, I have two discs in my case too, disc II for Eastern Europe and Disc I is in the RNS presently. [/ QUOTE ] I understand that there are two discs, just prooving a point that some people who should have the knowledge pass on mis-information
6. [ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] There should be 2 disks supplied. Disk 1 for West Europe and Disk 2 for East Europe. Only Disk 1 is required to perform the update. [/ QUOTE ] To quote Tom Peterkins e-mail to me yesterday, "there's only one disc"!!!! [/ QUOTE ] What are you trying to say that there is only 1 disc because there certainly is 2 discs no matter what anyone says especially peterkins? [/ QUOTE ] Calm down Just quoting an "Audi representative".
7. [ QUOTE ] There should be 2 disks supplied. Disk 1 for West Europe and Disk 2 for East Europe. Only Disk 1 is required to perform the update. [/ QUOTE ] To quote Tom Peterkins e-mail to me yesterday, "there's only one disc"!!!!
8. Just been quoted £350 for Nottingham Audi dealer to change Cambelt and tensioners on B6 TDi. Seems pretty good.
9. Derby Audi gave me a printout of the codes that the car was built with from factory, (this was their get out clause). I mentioned that my car had a centre arm rest fitted by the Nottingham dealer and as such, would that mean if there were a recall/problem with this item that mine would not be covered because it was not originally fitted in a factory? (Bearing in mind that i paid more for the armrest than a factory fit option!!!!!). Deathly silence............... Another point is that if AUDI were not happy with retrofit, why would they configure my DIS unit to show the Nav unit Info FOC? I've used my dealer quite a lot and they know my vehicle...they sold it to me. Surely they have the units details and would be able to ensure that only one set of disc's are issued. I understand that AUDI do not want to get "Ripped off", but as previously stated, these units have been paid for at some stage and so should that not reflect in their replacement policy?? Either that or reduce the cost of the discs, it's no wonder there are "back-up copies",duplicates and plain piracy problems today. As to dealer knowledge, i don't think that ANY manufaturer stands a chance whilst there are excellent web sites like this where individuals show interest in vehicles to such a depth, but the staff they employ only persue knowledge as a matter of employment. If you have an interest in a subject, then you will research it!! Rant over, Now to persue another angle of approach!!!
10. WELL..............Even the lovely Natalie at DERBY has said that it's the right unit but a RETROFIT so no way !!!! If i fell in a barrell of nipples i'd come out sucking my thumb! I'm still waiting for Tom Peterkin to contact me. Anyone got any LEGAL ideas/phone numbers or references Please
11. Things move on. I have already contacted Tom but as of yet I have had no reply. DERBY Audi have told me to call in on Friday. Natalie (service) again said that my car was not fitted and therefore they would need to check compatability, ie correct system. I mentioned that it was and she said if that's the case, i can have the Disc update FOC RESULT Seems that Nottingham really don't know whats happening, as i said, i had to give them the part numbers in the first place. They've also said only a couple of people had contacted them ref the upgrade!!!???!!! Such good cars supported by a staff of well trained morons PS PetrolDave, I work in Fareham and am still waiting for the local dealer to contact me here!
12. Just been told that Audi UK have stated to Nottingham Audi that they are not to update my vehicle as it was not built with Nav system and therefore i should pay for the upgrade! Typical. Leicester have said that 2002 are not covered, only from 2004 models. Has anyone with the B6 model had theirs done? Can anyone help please??
13. [ QUOTE ] Any dealer will be able to do the upgrade for you [/ QUOTE ] Just been quoted £245 from John Fox in Nottingham, told them about this website, originally gave them the part numbers for the discs and as quick as a flash.....NOTHING! They're going to get somone to check tomorrow. Anybody else dealt with the Nottingham dealer?
