[/ QUOTE ]Yes i think there was actually a chap here who imported one to the UK, he had difficulty getting the ECU updates as the DSG cars have different versions of the code. The were LHD and were never sold in the UK. Riz
tonymac
I've got one, No problems with getting the ECU updated, I have a 7000 series s/w flashed to my ECU, and a different s/w map for the DSG.

tonymac
Riz, insurance is approx £800ph for central london, not had any warranty work carried out apart from routine servicing and the s/w updates. So far it has driven faultessly, has survived a harsh swedish winter (down to -25) and the gearbox has never given any cause for complaint. City VW who service it, took 4 days to change the gearbox oil, despite telling then 2 weeks ahead of the service it was a DSG model and informing them they needed a special tool to fill the box, they said no problem, then after they had the car on a ramp and had drained the oil, they phoned me to tell me that the had they didn't have the tool and had to order it from Germany and it would take 3 days. Another example of VW's excellent service skills. Warranty on it runs out at the end of this year as it didn't come with teh extra 1 year UK dealer warranty, and have been quoted £835 from VW through their warranty company called "Mondial" for and extra year which looks like a total rip-off if you read the small print of it, they will not cover single claims for more than £1,000 per claim. I've got all the details of the warranty contract if anybody from Tyresmoke wants to read them, i can post them on here, especially if owners are considering extending theirs. Tony Mac. arg123
I've also got one but it lives in Deutschland - although it does make the odd guest appearance in the UK (the discreet DSG badge normally throws a few Petrolheads ). I've never tried a R32 manual but as mentioned in my previous reports, if I had to spec a new motor it would be at the very top of the VW options list. Here's my feedback: R32 DSG Enjoy, ARG123
