Ok Jon, well hopefully we'll get a few more confirmations for Harrogate between now and Friday. That way, we won't disappoint you because it'd be a shame for someone to not be able to join us who'd been in from the start. I fully appreciate that any change to Holy Island would mean you'd be unable to come because of the distance.

Ok everyone.....can I ask this then....

If we leave confirmation until THURSDAY of next week (see I am genuinely trying to give everyone a chance of committing to it here) can you all please let me know by then.

I can't see how we can leave it any later than that. There'll be no rearrangament though if we leave the deadline to Thursday. If numbers don't seem high enough for people to travel then I'm not going to go ahead an arrange a Holy Island meet with such a short time to go. I'll just wash the fecking car instead!

Get the crossing times wrong and you can combine the Holy Island meet with a thorough car wash (inside and out) 169144-ok.gif

For what it's worth Chris, here's my opinion...

Lets cancel harrogate now - and move the meet to Holy Island.

I have had to persuade Mrs RossG to give up a weekend to come down to Harrogate with me, and will have to book a hotel. I would well and truly be in the dog house if I have booked up her time and it is cancelled 48 hours before hand. If we were to go for a weekend away - harrogate would not ordinarily be our destination of choice!!

If we know we will have decent (ish) numbers at Holy Island then my vote is to move venue now.

Without being rude to anyone - if you've not committed by now then you more than likely won't.

Off out for the night - speak later everyone beerchug.gif

No rudeness Ross, just plain sense.

I haven't been able to commit, as I'm in the middle of a critically late project at the mo', been working 12+ hour days on it for three weeeks (including weekends) now, and not sure I'll be finished before the meet. A meet would have been a nice start to time time off I'm having to make up for all the hours I've put in recently, but I'm stuck with this until it's done.

Then this evening, I find out the wife's brother is coming up from Hereford that weekend, so I'm under pressure to be available for that. frown.gif

So, I'm out I think for Harrogate and Holy Island is a certain 'no'.

I'll get to a meet, somewhere, someday, really I will! blush.gif I need to get to a meet with t'other Chris, and show him what real German performance luxury motoring is about... tongue.gif

Have a good meet guys, wherever it is.

Right, bollocks to this. Too much up in the air. If we wait any longer it's going to be impossible to get anywhere sorted for something to eat or sod all else. Please note that whilst I appreciate the various reasons people have for not being able to confirm that I've made arrangements around the day itself, as have those that have confirmed, so for those that are definately going we need to set things in stone now.

So, HARROGATE IS OFF.

Arrangements for the proposed meet is now as follows:

11.30am Meet at Haggerston Castle Layby on A1

12.00noon depart for Lindesfarne Causeway over to Holy Island

Plenty of opportunity for photo's etc on Holy Island.

Food can be had at The Ship Inn or there are a variety of cafe's, none of which we'd need to book for.

Alternatively, we can then depart for Seahouses which is about 19 miles South of Holy Island on the Northumberland Coastal Route where Milo's mate will provide Fish & Chip's from his shop (yes, you have to pay naturally!).

There are plenty of other routes off and about for those that want to do a bit of petrol or diesel burning.

Please confirm you can come by adding your name to the list below:

1. MrMe

2. RossG

Well I made it clear ages ago that I wasn't able to go due to the date, but if people were prepared to go to Harrogate on a different weekend, I'd be up for it.

Getting more difficult for weekends as we near Christmas though, but just hope we don't rule out that location for a meet.

Have a great time on Holy Island. 169144-ok.gif
