Hopsta
You can still renew it with Audi just at an inflated premium ! think its about £100 on the S3

snez22
well customer services sent out a letter to me and i didn't get it. i don't think they sent one out to extend the warranty. now the thing has expired and i have to chase the dealer. i reckon it's aboot 400 quid too. just means i have to make some massive claims. new gearbox anyone?? aflanagan
Own an A6 1.8t sln. The extended warranty for 1 year is £480 inc VAT. However you have to have a 101 point check done by Audi prior to them extending the warranty and they charge £70 + vat to do this. This is definative, I got this info direct from a dealer yesterday. My mileage is just under at 58500.
sidicks
Now that you mention it, £400 sounds familiar.. sidicks
Hopsta
S3 renewal inside of the 3yrs/60,000 miles is £460, it then goes up by about 100 if you take it outside of that. whether that includes the Audi check i'm not sure. Got that info about a month ago, as i'll be looking get one for mine near to the end of the year. Graham
Riz
I`ve checked with my local Audi dealer today. Its £480 including VAT but there has to be a multipoint inspection carried out first for about £60 plus VAT! Seems agood price for the warranty though. r88per
I extended the warrenty on my S3 just as it ran out, £480 inc VAT. I did contemplate extending it for a while but in the end the piece of mind factor won me over, and out came the cash. They didnt ask for any multi point check over, I dont know whether this was due to the warrenty not actually running out before I extended it though. snez22
just had a quote back from audi. my a3 is over 5 years old (by 2 months) and has 65k miles on it. they want 630 quid for 12 months. no mention of a check. the guy said i could pay over the phone by credit card. all i have to do now is try and work out whether its worht it. i reckon it will be with their labour rates. pepsi32
Before you do ring my mate Fred @ www.pdsbellevue.co.uk - he saved me a fortune on me S4's warranty. Audi stealer wanted £900 this year up from £450 last year....so I f'kd them off and bought a 3rd party GOLD jobbie that includes even the aircon. Hell there's more covered than the AUDI one for about £300 all in. Result. Like car insurance only time will tell but the small print reads okay for once! Fred's number at the garage is 0191 4223777. Hope it helps anyway...
richyboy
Think the AA also do one.
snez22
The AA and www.warrantydirect.co.uk do one too. The trouble is that my Audi dealers (Listers) don't honour those warranties. They used to hnour the AA one but have stopped because of "issues". They are looking to use a third party warranty firm but not for a couple of weeks, so i'll wait. Kraken
Just cost me £760 for the 'official one' for my S4, they sent a reminder about 6 weeks before the expiry but then didn't follow up. Net result was the car goes in 2 days after the original one had 'invisibly' expired and came away with another £600+ of work to do on top of a £80 bill for the assessment. You have to have a warranty on the thing though - to my knowledge the thing has cost £10 a day for every day that I've owned it for parts and labour alone, before insurance, fuel, Meguiars, tyres etc of which so far the warranty has picked up about 85%. When the car's running it's sheer magic, but I am wondering whether I'd buy another 2nd hand peformance Audi given the problems my now 4 year old car has been through. AudiSi
I have an AA waranty on my A3 1.8T. I think it cost me around £200. All of my work has been carried out by Lookers Audi in Thornaby. If work is authorised, I pay the dealer and then AA re-imburse me less £25 excess. The cover seems very good, I have so far had a new air flow meter, new clocks due to fading DIS and even a new rear flexible brake pipe. Details of all of the parts covered are available on the AA website. Simon
snez22
so the AA warranty is a good one? i got a quote for 277 for one on their website. i wasn't sure aboot it but after hearing that i may go for it. audi want 680 for a renewal. AudiSi
The AA warranty seems OK to me, even covered the leaking brake pipe, which must be a fairly common fault on A3 of this age as the dealer keeps the pipe in stock. Check the AA website for all of the parts covered. I think I am limited to £1000 per claim with £25 excess, but total cover is up to the value of the car.
