GT TDI MK4 - Can I change my seats easily?

Hi - Can any of you tell me if it's simple to change out my original seats to a set of leather ones? I have a 02 plate GT TDi but dont want to make too much work for myself.

Yes,

The seats are pretty easy to swap over! I'm assuing that you're thinking of finding a donor set for the same type of car but leather and sporty, ie 3dr - 3dr or 5dr - 5dr!

At the back of each of the seat slider rails, there is a plastic cap. Remove this and remove the securing bolt.

Then go to the front of the seat and find a 10mm bolt. Remove this.

Slowly push the seat all the way back and hey presto, out it comes. It really is a 5 minute job.

The back seats are even easier. Just lift the seat base(s) up to remove them, and you can see the bolts for the seat backs.

Don't forget to unplug the wiring for the Seat air bag/Heated seats and don't have the keys in the ignion when you are removing the seats (may cause the air bag light to come on.)
