New Car Tonight

Hi vagman!

First noticed the six speed gearbox is better than my A3's 5 speed, not as notchy.

The ride feels 'heavier' but when I'd floored it I knew then it is faster than my old A3! Yes!!! grin.gif

Was grin.gif all the way home, went out to a nice clear road I know too later, cue even bigger grin.gif

The car itself is Raven BLack/Grey leather 2002 spec (9 spoke alloys) has Bose, 6 CD and heated seats (not sure if this is an option or not).

Unfortunately the plates have that horrible EU GB thing on, told the dealer as my plate is private not to put anything like that on it. sportifs2.gif

So apart from the plates I am well chuffed!

Cheers mate! beerchug.gif

Anything apart from dropping windows I should watch out for?

Also does anyone know how to find out the build week of the car as I know most coil packs are Ok from MY2002 week 20. The car was registered end of last Sept. so guess it was built last summer.

Thanks.

Hi Chad,

Glad ya liked it. Tis a great car and the grin will be a permanent feature.

By the way, heated seats are a standard feature and great in the winter.

With regards to the coil pack issue, it has more or less run it's course, although one or two owners are still reporting failures.

I note that your car was built in week 20 last year. This is equivalent to approx mid May 2002 qnd would have been fitted with faulty coil packs. My previous TT was a 180 and was built March 2002. A coil failed last Nov, days after ordering the new 225, and a second coil failed in late Feb, just three days before I took delivery of my current on.

I think that it way toward the end of last year that the old coil packs were phased out in favour of the new more reliable ones. If you can find your way around the engine compartment the the good packs are type j whilst the faulty ones are type h.

There has been numerous threads on the UKTT Owners forum, if you care to take a gander. It is a really good forum and a wealth of info on everything about the TT. You would be most welcome to join in the fun. web page

TT forum down or not, I visit both for the chat etc. but for real TT info you need a specialist forum. There are too few TT owners on this site unfortunately.

Now if I was to mention another audi forum there are even less TT owners .......

Now where are my curling tongs? ROLLEY~14.GIF

LOL! Fret not my post count means I will stay here and the TT-forum looks just as wacky (wakky?) so my resource can easily be shared.

Guess I will have to cut my own hair now!

As the saying goes, "Its all gone Curling Tong mate!" jump.gif

My trip to work and home now has gone up a level but due to getting the car on Monday night of a busy week at work, means I am too tired to go out driving again! fekr.gif Wait till the weekend though! FIREdevil.gif

Sorry, I was not trying to nick members on behalf of the UK TT owners forum, merely pointing him in the direction of a specialised site which could be of assistance to him.

I respect the Tyresmoke forums and have recommended the site on the TT forum for people wishing general Audi chat.
