deathchurch
How do you remove the standard door pins, I have tried by hand and using mild pressure with a pair of pliers, but they don't budge and I dont want to put too much pressure on in case I break them? Mook
Welcome to Tyresmoke They screw off, so, if you can't remove them by hand, then a pair of pliers is the only way - it will ruin them, but they're not expensive to replace, or you could go for a pair of alloy door pins on eBay. deathchurch
Cheers!! Yeah I have got a pair of alloy pins waiting to go in, I was just unsure how much force is required to get the standard ones out, will go back out there and give it some more stick to get them out, thanks. graeme86
Just grip and unscrew with pliers if you are going to replace them anyway. If you look closely at the top of the pin it has a small dot on it. After a couple of turns to disengage the threads, if you point the dot towards the middle of the car they should then just pull up. The rod they screw onto has a flat on one side and the dot indicates where the flat is inside the door pin. Once you get one off you will see how it all works.
