LRR
Hi, Yeah, I've recently purchased one off ebay too http://tinyurl.com/ap8sk Things to note is that you can normally find both the CD & DVD versions available on ebay, AND you don't normally get a navigation disc with the DVD one (you get a 'backup' with the CD one). DVD disc is £175 from dealer inc vat. Also note that the MFD2 RNS comes in two different shapes....but some ebayers say both fit the Golf...They don't one has round corners, one square. I followed the instructions on here http://tinyurl.com/8krdn all work carried out with just one torx screwdriver, GPS receiver stuck under centre vent. Was up and working in about 30 - 40 minutes! As a word of warning I wanted to check all was working propery before putting the dask back together.... switched the ignition ON with the 'passenger airbag disabled' light not plugged in, and tripped the fault/tamper indicator on the car....Quick trip to the VW dealership, slipped man out back £20 and he reset it for me.... IMHO this is definitely the way to go, alot less money than factory fitted, and no-one will know any different. Hope that helps.
