shark_90
After 147,500 miles I still can't fault my A4. I've had a few problems with it here and there, but some were down to my tuning box, some down to a bit of stray water in the fusebox but all in all over the last 48k since I've owned it, it's been great. Just recently I've decided to be a little more careful on the motorways as there are feds all over the south west with their camera vans and their laser guns, and today I went from Hinckley to Exeter at a steady 70 and returned an incredible indicated 59.2 mpg. Not bad for a heavy A4, loaded with stuff. For those that are interested, it's a remapped 1.9 TDi PD130 2WD SE. I'm going to HATE switching to petrol! Rustynuts
Only another 13 mpg to get on top of that, and you'll have caught me up. Why are you going to petrol? Was it something I said?

shark_90
I have been considering this carefully, and although Milo's TDi really is the way forward, but I've been offered a petrol car that I just can't turn down. It's a quattro, which I'd prefer if I can wangle it, and it has leather too. Part of me is still torn between the two, but I think, despite the amount it's going to cost me in fuel, it's going to be the petrol. 73 MPG Rusty?! Feck me! BenjaminTDI
UBM it looks like you need a re-map to improve your fuel economy so you can break 40mpg Seriously though, I struggle to get more than 40mpg from mine at the mo, but I don't drive slowly and I have to overtake a lot. I'm blaming it on the 18 inch rims and winter diesel.
Durrsaku
Mine is only doing about 35 mpg at the moment as i am only doing short journeys in town. Even the Optimax unleaded is not helping.
danksy
Pah.... 56.6mpg from my 13 year old tractor
gizze
I am getting 29.4mpg at the moment out of the 535d, more than happy with that! Would need a remapped S4 to get the same from a petrol, and that would give me around 16 mpg so I can't really complain at all.
