Insurance Jon
I've dot a 2wd A4 as a courtessy car for 3 days, and i was wondering. Do audi deliberately make the 2wd cars handle so badly (twitching and wheel spinning) just to make everyone buy a quattro. And whats with that binging noise from the seatbelt warning? Soapsuds
the 2.0 tdi has about 10bhp more than my PD130 (FWD SE version). Mine JUST hangs on with the traction control and some do struggle (tyre dependant). Mine is even worse with the SE suspension. Great for long motorway hauls (which i mainly do), but awful otherwise. I am lowering mine in the next month or so anyway.... But yes, they are twitchy, but bear in mind, the B7 is supposed to be the best handling A4 yet Quattro does seem the way forward, but its not TOO bad when you get used to launch control
BenjaminTDI
[ QUOTE ] And whats with that binging noise from the seatbelt warning? [/ QUOTE ] This is to satisfy the EuroNCAP criteria for a 5 star rating, the car must have a safety belt indicator.
Insurance Jon
does that mean teh rs4 will have it too?
BenjaminTDI
yes I don't see why not Jon if you are determined not to wear your seatbelt you can always buy the end of one off ebay and just stick that in there or somehow disable the pressure sensor under the seat. Milo
I thought someone said it can be disabled via VAG-COM?

I've been complaining about the wheel spin in particular ever since I got the A4 Avant and all I ever get told is it's the style of driving! None of my previous cars have ever suffered from that style of driving though! It's fecking atrocious. Great car, but badly flawed in that respect. Redavant
Had mine with the ESP light on yesterday in third gear! Definetly not the best feature. As for the seatbelt warning beep.... Very annoying. Goes off even if you've got something heavy enough on the passenger seat.
Sparky
Is it a B7 thing? I don't find mine (b6 sport) anything other than planted apart from on icy roads. Ask a few people on here and you'll see I don't drive like a Milo so it's not as if I'm not testing it.

gizze
Seriously, it is an Audi FWD thing! Pulling away with quite a bit of torque the car sqauts down on the rear and the front lifts all the weight of the wheels that are supposed to be giving all the traction, what else is going to happen, you can learn how to avoid this, but should you really have to? Kell
gIzzE - just seen your car in your sig - lovely motor fella. I know two people that have/had a 535D DMS tuned and they both love it. Had a passenger ride in one and it's become my new favourite car.
Nelson_R32
It's more an ESP 8 thing rather than a Audi thing, ESP 8 is designed to cut in later. So you get allot more wheelspin.
Soapsuds
will be popping some lowering springs on mine soon, so will be interested to see if this stops the arse sitting down as much and spinning the fronts.... in theory, it should.... Got to say it is the first car that has made me go out and spend £100 on Megs cleaning products! Maybe it's just because it is black, but I like to think it is because I like this more than any other I have owned.
