Brabus
Lags, think I'll wait for the car to arrive first. Already parted with my 'old' M3 (for a good price ) Cant stand the wait for the new one! Whats the latest on your delivery date? Got a test-drive with a CSL for next thursday, beat that....fool! Brabus
I still have no *confirmed* delivery time for my new baby, my dealer says it will be end of July/early August. Probably the same time as you, I suspect? Saying that though, having seen that CSL Im quite tempted to try and find one of those instead... Lagoo
really.... do you think its worth that much more ??
Brabus
Yeah, until I saw one in real life I didnt think so but now, yes. It just looks so good, the seats, the carbon fibre, the wheels, the slick tires... I wouldnt get a new one though, am already trying to haggle my dealer to sell me the demo-car I'll be trying next week. Its not spoken for and I might be able to get it for a decent discount. Would you get a demo-car CSL? I realise it might have been a bit abused but I'd still have the 3 year warranty so if something goes wrong...I'd be covered... Lagoo
umm it would concern me with any car especailly more with the CSL as its a "drivers" car. Havent the dealers had limits imposed on them if they have a demo car.... (eg not selling before a certain date).
Brabus
Thats something I'll have to ask my dealer when I see him. Also have to check what kind of condition/mileage it will have after the test-drives. Not overly keen on having scuffed kick-plates, cooked brakes and so on for the sort of money I'd have to pay... Let you know how I get on...
danksy
IIRC dealers have a legal requirement to keep demo cars for 3 mnths. Something to do with VAT on new cars, but not on secondhand cars. i.e they buy demo cars, and claim the vat back, and sell them on secondhand without the vat, but for not much less than the new price inclduing VAT, thereby receiving a greater margin than if they'd sold a new one! Hence the reason why they are restricted. (This is based on a pub conversation, so it may be complete pants!)
Brabus
It just might be pants Well, at least over here it doesn't work like that. Take my parents for example. They desperately wanted a Cayenne Turbo before the summer and the dealer (a good friend) ordered a car for his dealership as a "demo-car". It arrived within 10 days and my parents got it straight away without any grubby customers getting to drive it This might be an exceptional case but it would probably apply to the CSL but it would have been driven (thrashed? ) for a few hundred miles. Wonder if they run it in before letting the customers test-drive it?

Its not too bad delivery time, it'll be just a month over when I get it in beg august...Some people in GB have waited over year if you listen to some of the numbnuts on that other board. What are you going to do with the new CB you have on order presently??
Brabus
Not sure what I wanna do, have been thinking about it over the weekend. Will have a spin in the CSL on thursday and hopefully make up my mind. Im wondering if it'll be practical enough to use everyday or not, its very spartan inside and apparently makes alot of noise on the motorway. The CB on order Im sure would be easy to sell on to someone else... Let you know how it goes.
