spencer
Hi Guys I'm looking at buying a mk4 R32 after selling my Boxster S. Looking at one in particular at Nick johnson Motor co - he claims he's a specialist in R32s!! The car is 3dr Blue and has the DSP and Grey leather and alcantara interior. Not sure on the blue and grey combo...thoughts??? The car has done 37k and is a 53 plate - its up for £16995. Extras include a Full Milltek Exhsut System and an induction kit. Nick seems to think the car is still under VW warranty but reckons I wont be able to renew the warranty after it expires (something about VW losing it warranty extension rights and I'd have to go through a 3rd party like RAC!!) Thoughts?? I'm keen to know what to look for on a car like this? also when are the major services due? I have done some searching on her so know about the Ecu updates....etc I'm completely green to R32s having been an ///M and Porsche owner recently...please could you guys give me some advice on the above and some general tips before i view the car tomorrow? Also how do I check if its a genuine UK car concerned about imports.... Thanks in advance.....
Mook
Welcome to Tyresmoke Slider The price sounds about right, but you need to check into the mods that have been made - talk to the previous owner. If the dealer won't give you their details, walk away. You need to know what else was done. With the induction kit, as a general rule, VW won't warrant any problems with the engine. Servicing is set by default to variable, which means the car will shout when it needs a service, based on how it's driven. I changed mine to fixed interval servicing at 10K miles when I got mine. No technical changes required for this, just book it into your VW dealer when the miles come around. I won't post info about modifications you can make to your car to ensure it will ship the ass of an M3. Yet... HTH
