audisport
My dad's 2003 Golf Mk4 seems to be having a problem with the clutch. Every now and again when the car is started up, the clutch is already down against the floor. He got the system bled incase there were any airlocks etc and for a while it was fine. However, after a couple of weeks it did it again to me. The only way to bring the clutch back up is to put your foot under it and prize it. Has anyone had this problem? Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks

mulkbear
It is very common for the clutch master cylindrs to fail, Is it a Diesel or a Petrol ?
audisport
It is a 1.4 petrol. It shouldn't matter if its petrol or diesel for the cylinders to fail should it?
mulkbear
It is a cheap and easy to repair if it is a petrol but the Diesels are a bit harder. I would put my money on the Clutch Master cylinder being faulty.
