peterb Posted May 25, 2006 Report Share Posted May 25, 2006 That round lodged in the doorframe reminds me of the time I nearly took a hit when out in Aden. The bullet passed through our neighbour's balcony doors and lodged in the doorframe directly opposite the front door to our flat, just as I had come up the stairs and was opening our front door. If it had been an inch further over (and it had been fired from several hundred yards away), it would have passed clean through the wood .... It was always 'entertaining' watching the machine-gun tracer fire, returned by our boys up on the roof, ricocheting around the mountainside.
