Dan32 Posted May 29, 2006 Report Share Posted May 29, 2006 Also, the Milltek system is polished stainless steel whereas the standard VW stuff is flat grey and rusty. If yours sounds a bit noisier than you expected, perhaps the previous owner did the flapper mod where they took off and bunged up the air tube to the solenoid flapper valve (which kept the exhaust quiet enough to pass noise tests but opened up at higher rpms) Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
khutula Posted May 29, 2006 Author Report Share Posted May 29, 2006 The only rust is on the brackets that hold the exhaust up. The pipes are 4 inches across from the outer edges. Dan32 Posted May 29, 2006 Report Share Posted May 29, 2006 The original one in my loft definitely isn't shiny. I'd say thats aftermarket. Look for a tube thats been blanked off somewhere.
