scapstick
Hi, My 2002 diesel passat sport estate (130bhp) sometimes smokes when I start it from cold. It doesn't do it every time, and I can't be certain, but it seems to do it more when parked facing down hill, though that could be my imagination. It only does it for a few secconds (maybe 10?) then is clear. Is this anything that I need to worry about or not?
Snail
What colour is the smoke? Blue tends to indicate turbo issues.
scapstick
I wouldn't say blue, kind of grey/white. I will take more notice though. I take it that it's not normal though? The car has 60k on the clock and I have only bought it a couple of months ago.
shark_90
My A4 130TDi (same engine) also used to do this. Mainly when it was very cold through the winter. I never had any major issues with it and it never burnt a drop of oil, so I think you'll be fine Oh, and it had 153k on it Welcome to TSN
JasXPear
[ QUOTE ] Is this anything that I need to worry about or not? [/ QUOTE ] Nah, i've had a few and they've all done that when cold. When its REALLY cold they've all coughed and spluttered for a second or two as well and smoked even more.
