It did about 3 turns and she shut it off, to be honest that's what it does to mine, it's as if it shuts the fuelling off. Lets be honest it's not as if your car is being stolen every day..... I only use it when I park in London!!!!!

From reading the Revo site it appears that it should just electronically cut the connection between the fly-by-wire throttle and the ECU. There shouldn't be any change to mappings or anything else. When you put your foot down the car should remain at idle.

If that's the case it doesn't work, and it doesn't work on the S3, 1.8 turbo Gti, R32 and Mk5 GTi. I'll speak to Revo and see what they say but if you've set it you'll be aware that it's been set and it's not something your going to forget about removing regularly. I've never forgotten and the car hasn't been knicked so I'm not that bothered (all I know is that it does prevent the car being stolen, even if they have the keys)

...Revo need to be more specific imo and do something to solve what I think is an issue. It's totally unacceptable to have an anti-theft device which potentially damages your car if a theft is attempted, or if you even forget it's on!

This deffo needs bringing to their attention.

There's no issue at all... with anti-theft enabled there is no fueling or load being requested from the ECU thus the car won't idle or run correctly.

With the older cars, some of the Anti-Theft was done by turning off the throttle, some by the fuel.

Hope this clears it up!

Does it for me... I'm not bothered either way, I'd rather anything than them getting away with the car.

Hi Kev - I assume you must work for Revo, judging by your TSN name and signatured link 169144-ok.gif. If so, you clearly know what you are talking about and so a big thankyou for your posted info....A Revo is now back on my tuners list for consideration. I was particularly impressed by Revo's representative JKM in Portsmouth.

Thanks.

Is that the one where she was about to drop the keys down the drain, but then takes the car instead ECLIPSe.gif

VW have always made good ads IMO. I loved the last anniversary advert where the guys driving and the streets are set in the 70's, then 80's etc, and the car changes accordingly, before ending up as the 25th anniversary model. Really cool cool.gif
