bircham
Those pics are amazing - what an amazinf job you do - £400 for the 911! It shows there are still real craftsmen out there not ripping us off but doing a great job and loving their trade! Out of interest what is your favourite colour for a car? Black seems to be really popular just now but I wonder if in a few years time when they start to look swirly, chipped and scratched whether people will go back to lighter colours? ( MY irish green A6 is a pain to keep clean) Great job, fantastically interesting post, Jon
EssFour
You see to have worked on some nice cars. What amazes me is how people can let their cars get into such state.
slimtim
Some really fantastic results there! Very very nice. Do you compound in full sun usually or take a gazebo with you? Also what compounds are you using as the bootlid is very impresive.
jediknight83
I Dont have a gazebo yet but it is something i will be buying before the winter sets in. I find it helpful in the sun actually as i can really see the swirls disappear as the work is done. I find if i do it in a shady area they may 'appear' to have gone but back in the sun you realise it actually needs more work I use autoglym trade and bodyshop products with a sealer 6 speed polisher and autoglym polishing heads. dazr32
jedi what is the secret with orbital polishers, i have valeted my own car for years and very nearly on a few occasions took the plunge and purchased a polisher but the thought of goosing my r32s paintwork has made me refrain but i am still tempted as you cannot get the same finish by hand no matter how hard you try. jediknight83
sorry for slow replys... been away for a few weeks. dazr32, i actually use a rotary not an orbital. Secret is to keep it flat and not use it too fast and to work the product in well before turning the speed up too high. If your unsure then practice on some scrap panels first. Rothwell, thanks... prob not the 'god'. i still get completely humbled by some valeters out there. I do take pride in my work though Cupramax, Thanks for the offer. Bournemout is a long way but maybe we can work something out so i dont have to bring the van, Do you have a water and electricity source and a pressure washer? Then i can hack down in the s3 with just the products i need.
jediknight83
spent the past two days on and off doing my own car. not many pics and the ones i have arent that great as the sun was a bit bright but you can see it more in the shade. In the flesh it looks amazing though. Before (after a week of driving round wales with surfboards and wetsuits.) After Process: -Wheels cleaned with AG alloys wheel cleaner, brushed and rinsed. -Whole car sprayed with TFR mix, arches, door and boot shuts, the lot, and rinsed. -Car shampoo'd with AG shampoo and conditioner with AG Autorinse Gloss mixed in and rinsed. -Clayed with Meguiars Clay. -Washed again with the above mix, rinsed and dried. -Waxed with AG Super resin -Windows cleaned with AG Glass Polish -Rubber treated with AG rubber care. -Wax removed by hand and buffed at 1800rpm -Waxed with AG EGP -Arches sprayed with AG super sheen -Tyres dressed with AG rubber plus -Interior vacuumed, all interior glass cleaned. -Wax removed by hand and buffed at 1800rpm -Another layer of AG EGP on bonet, roof, wings and top part of doors -Wax removed as above. hotdog
amazing I don't know how you have the patience Any recommendations for cleaning and protecting wheel arches as I'm going to get some poorboys wheel wax to do the wheels properly at some point, so I'll do the arch liners etc at the same time
EssFour
Looking very good. When I was looking for an S3 I seriously considered a dolphin grey. The new S3 has a lot to live up to.

jediknight83
hotdog, i used a tfr mix on the arches and then pressure washed it clean. if their really dirty then use a brush. then i sprayed AG super sheen and let it dry naturally. EssFour, Its actually Mineral Grey i thought it was Dolphin until i checked the sales receipt. Cheers Ska. I forgot to add to the list of 'process' that i also waxed the wheels with AG EGP.
