That's more expensive than the dealers are offering. crazy.gif

I've been quoted RRP's as:

2.0T FSI FR - £16,995

2.0 TDI FR - £17,495

And that's before I started talking discount! grin.gif

Bi-Xenons now include AFS (Adaptive front lighting system) - £870

Bluetooth pack upgrades the dash display too. - £250

Convenience Pack (Light Sensor, Rain Sensor, Auto Dimming Mirror) - £195

iPod connector only £75 169144-ok.gif

Interesting as my dad said when he contacted them they offered to discount any options he wanted on the car at the same percent off level as there give off a basic car so ~11.6% off option prices too.

Just to clarify my original post the prices for a standard spec Leon FR that Drive the deal were offering were.

£15044.42 for the 2.0T FSI FR

£15472.27 for the 2.0 TDI FR

So about £2000 off RRP.

Yes, that's right, they will offer it at that price, but then they'll come back to you and say "sorry sir, no dealer is prepared to accept our offer".

Basically, a dealer explained it to me that when you buy from Drive the Deal, the offer is put out to all the dealers in the area, who then either accept or decline. Those that accept then can alter the price with you over the phone until you're happy, or just offer what Drive the Deal got it for.

3 dealers all called me and told me politely that there's no f-ing chance that with options, they'll accept the order as Drive the Deal orders come from a pool of cars brought into the country rather than Factory Build.

Well it's what I've been told anyway. crazy.gif

I see, confused.gif When we bought an Ibiza (with options & it was a factory order because of this so took 10weeks total) through them a year and a bit ago now we got a call from only 1 dealer to finalise the spec/order etc.(price never changed)

I did not realise this is what they did.

On a slight side note............. the standard spec is very high compared to many cars these days, just look at what you have to add to BMW, VW and Audi to get some decent 'toys' or even just some ;nice things', where-as the Leon FR seems to already have most of what I'd have to 'spec' on the others.

Only need to add Xenons, Heated Seats and Metallic !!

My Missus got the Leon Sport. This is the FR minus 15 BHP and a few stickers. It's got everything on it, as standard!

Crusie control, twin climate control, electric folding/heating mirrors, MP3 player, A whole host of safety programmes, auto lights. All we added was parking sensorts and Xenons and it was a steal.

Q: If I order my car from www.drivethedeal.com, what happens next

A: Your order will be E mailed to us and we will telephone you to discuss it with you and confirm all of the details. We then fax it out to the supplying UK main dealership which will telephone within 2 working days to introduce themselves to you. From that point onwards you may deal directly with the dealer.

My brother went to buy a Leon FR last week. The salesman's opening statement was zero discount. Nothing. Not even for cash.

"It's new model sir ices_blah.gifices_blah.gif"

Even when it was pointed out that drivethedeal etc were doing sizeable discounts they still wouldn't move on the price.

So he did what anyone would do. He walked out, taking his chequebook with him tongue.gif

However all was not lost. He went elsewhere and bought an 05 plate low mileage Cupra R instead (just because he wanted to say it was 5 PS more than mine ROLLEY~14.GIF).

A superb car 169144-ok.gif

You sure? The Sport is 140bhp diesel, the fr is either 170bhp diesel, or 200bhp petrol. That's a fair bit more than some stickers!

Yes, quite sure.

The Sport doesn't exist now, and it came out before the FR had been shown. When the FR came out they deleted the sport model from the list. I asked the dealer what this meant and if we'd have problems selling on the car, and he told me what differences there were.

The Sport was a 185 bhp PETROL model, the FR is 200 bhp. So, like I said, a few stickers (and black wing mirrors) is all the difference. It was the top of the range model, above stylance but was turned into the FR model and had a few tweaks. Kit wise, bang on the same, plus the MP3 player and changed the alloys into the nasty ones now found on the FR.

AAh - I was going on what's now called the 'reference sport.'

Apologies!
