drmotorsport
I've got a knocking from the front drivers side suspension. I'm happy to replace the link myself but i'm dammed if I can find any play in any of the arms either with the wheel off or with loading. Anyone with a bright idea on how to test which link is duff - or shall i just replace both?
Ska
Do you get the knocking over speed bumps and pot holes or all the time?
drmotorsport
just over rough tarmac/bumps - given the state of the roads around here that's most of the time!

drmotorsport
yeah, but only one is knocking, it's not necessary to change both lowers and both uppers - and i'd rather not!
Botang
You may well find its difficult to trace, in hindsight with mine its a lot easier to do them all in one go with one of the kits. I tried looking on Audiworld for you, I can remember seeing a post that gave a guide as to which arm to change based on the sound it made and when it did it, the only problem is when you search for control arm it returns of 590 posts in the A8 section alone, I think you can call that a common fault
drmotorsport
Cheers! out of curiosity where can I buy the kits and how much are they likely to be?

drmotorsport
so you think it's the top rear link? my feeling was it's the lowers that are playing up and maybe the rear in particular as it's quite a deep thump and can be felt through the firewall.
