nickyg1
Hello, I wonder if anyone has any ideas what could cause this. My blowers seem to take quite a while to get cold after starting up the car. Also when the car is moving they do get cold but as soon as I am stopped in traffic the air coming out is warm. Do i need to re-gas the Climate Control? I have a 1998 A3 1.8T. Many Thanks Nick
paul_tdi
Only a suggestion, may be the belt is loose that runs the compressor which is why at stationary not cold? Good luck!
Vic
Try and see if this works Maybe it'll give you some fault codes.
Ska
do you have an aux electric fan on the condenser? if so when the car stops does it turn on or increase speed as ther is no natural airflow through the rad and condenser unit? if this the case the compressor will shut down as the temp. and pressure rises causing warm air to come through the vents
Woppum
An air-conditioning unit I have been told can only blow 8-10 degrees colder than the air outside and it cant compress it quick enough. When you are moving along because of the wind chill, the air should come out colder.. Of course you could have a fault, but thats my guess
