I always go over very very slowly usually causing tail backs

and a queue aof traffic.

If theres nothing coming the other way, I go in the middle of the road ie between them-much easier and faster.

Remember one guy sounding his horn at me to go quicker-yeah like that would work,Anyway he sped past me proceeded to fly over the next spped bump banged his exhausts and it ended up dragging on the ground-did I laugh- you bet I did!

I've now tested the "fast is better" theory - the Mazda quite likes to take them at pace - interesting sort of near flight experience. 169144-ok.gif The TT has to go slow - I tried at pace and the exhaust nearly flew off as the Blueflame is lower than OEM. EEK2.GIFNONO3.GIF

So, yes, I'll be the TT crawling along those roads with the humps!! grin.gif

The best car I've had for speed bumps was a ford mondeo... I didn't even notice the bumps were there.

The suspension may be spongey as hell, but it didn't shake my arse to death over speed bumps - unlike the audi!

The MX-5 has quite soft suspension (I've actually hurt my back as it bounced off the bump-stops a few times on the North East meet run which is REALLY painful), so it'll be less phased by going over them at speed, I normally go over the middle of the road raised ones at the speed limit.

Your all lucky you can chose whether its fast or slow, I can either miss them completely if they are the mounds by going down the middle, or roll at less than 5mph over anything else or i'll just scrape the floor of the mini, and I'm not even running on 10"'s yet ROLLEY~14.GIF

Dead slow for me, over the full width ones, but the silly little lumps (one on each side of the road) I have to avoid by "middle of the road"ing them, otherwise the sump guard gets a clanging. Admittedly, if I did hit one, it'd bounce off but what a noise it'd make.

TDI golf/bora/beetle are well known for the sump being low, i have replaced hundreds of cracked sumps due to them hitting speed humps.

One thing that has always baffled me - why do 4x4 off-road type vehicle drivers slow down for speedhumps (table-top traffic calmers - to be precise).

[/ QUOTE ]

Because the suspension is so spongey that if they hit them at speed they'll become airborne! znaika.gif
