Wayside Audi Milton Keynes

I have seen a lot negative comments about wayside on this site. I run a fleet of high mileage sales cars 3 of which were Audis. We have found Wayside to be very good at sales but completely terrible at service. In over 200,000 miles of servicing i cannot think of any time when they have done a good job. I don' shocked.gift have time to list every job not completed or not completed well but our greatest concern is every car serviced there has had its service book lost and we genuinely worry some one there is sealing these documents to ring cars. ( We also had a car stolen from their bodyshop ) We only now have 1 Audi left and that goes soon because of their poor service. Has anyone else had their service book stolen when their car was at Wayside?

Removed the front bumper on my 8 the other day, it fell to the ground because Wayside body shop forgot to put the bolts back in the retaining braket on the near side. mad.gif

Also my boot lock fell inside after I picked the car up from them confused.gif

I took my cabriolet to Wayside for its Variable Service 2 a few weeks ago (£630!). I had to explain at great length what needed to be included (from the service book!). They then didn't tick off the service. When I got it back the roof box would not fold up into the boot. They said it was broken and want £513 to replace it. It worked perfectly until they serviced it. I have now written to Audi Customer Services. I am also looking for a non-franchised Audi specialist in the area.

Wouldn't touch wayside with a barrage pole!

I now use Keith's Audi in Aylesbury - not bad, courteous, seem to generally do a good job and cheaper than wayside (if you ask nicely - £420 for cambelt and water pump change on a4 tdi with a 220bhp a4 saloon as courtesy car)

these have appeared pretty good when I have been round there.

Inde-tech UK, they are all ex VAG group techs. I have dealt with Andy - I first found the place because his sister looks after my Kids, so thought i'd give it a try.

Thanks. Audi charged me £630 for the second service which I guess is normal?

Now I need to service my wife's Touran (2ltr diesel DSG)which needs its first (variable) service in 600 miles. Obviously it's still in warranty; do I trust it to Wayside VW or Vindis Bedford ......?

I wouldnt trust my cat with Wayside VW - they have been worse than shocking with my Beetle.

Just rang for a quote for my A4 1.8T second variable and they quoted £370?

Not been to Vindis VW, but had my Audi done at BEdford Audi and they are good and quite a bit cheaper than MK.

The Audi Variable Service No. 2 was:

Labour

- Service £209

- Brake Fluid change £66.50

- Multi gearbox oil change £95.00

Parts £171.96 inc £72 for oil!

VAT £94.93

Total £637.39

They told me afterwards (!) it should have had an air conditioning service. However at about £150 this seemed a bit steep.

Although Wayside valeted the car they messed up the strike plate for the boot catch and got oil marks on the carpet and door grab handle. I've always had problems with Wayside and hope not to go back (unless they fix my roofbox).

I've also been told by a friend that VW Wayside at Towcester often try to charge you for a Service 2 when they carry out a Service 1.

I have a friend who runs a company car (A4 2.5 TDI cab). When he booked it into Wayside they told him that the issue he was having wasn't an "issue" to him because he was not paying for the repairs. They used that to treat him like an idiot!

I would not trust my cars to Waysdie Audi either - and have always found the aftersales service at Northampton very good (especially after they screwed up!). That will last until the guy I always ask for leaves!!

I was very impressed; they sorted me out straight away and seemed very professional. I would certainly go back; at my recent service Wayside said the car needed an air-conditioning service. Wayside quoted c£150; Inde-Tech quoted about £40! I have no intention of venturing anywhere near Wayside again; and certainly will not be buying my new car from them. I will be replying to Audi's Customer Services Dept to this effect.

i advise people strongly not to use Indetech after my own personal experience with them.

Recently they were recomended to me by a friend as i needed new rear axle bushes and rear coil springs for my golf Tdi (common fault), after payment and collection and upon driving away i noticed virtually immediately that my brake pedal had a lot of travel and was very poor (spongy), i obviously took the car back straight away and was told they would look into it,........( still doe's not explain to me how they could give a customer back their car with deficient brakes!, and was it not road tested?, i was told the car had been road tested!,so even worse they gave the car back to me like this!.

After leaving the car with them for a further half a day i was contacted by Indetech, and was told the reason for my poor brakes was due to a problem with my master cylinder servo, i pointed out my brakes were 100% ok when the car was brought to the garage, but was told that this was the first time that they had incurred this problem whilst doing the said job:confused:, they explained that whilst doing the rear axle bushes, the rear axle has to be lowered and all brake lines removed, i was told that because my servo master cylinder was weak prior to coming into the garage, doing the work has significantly made it worse. I was then advised that a new master cylinder sevo or possibly kit would resolve this issue with my brakes.

Well i was obviously not happy with what i was being told:o, and the fact that they actually gave the car back to me without even telling me that my brakes were insufficient.I therefore sort advice elsewhere and contacted impartial vw technicians through wayside, i explained my situation, and it was pointed out that this job was a pain to do due to the excessive amount of bleeding of the brakes that sometimes is required to get the foot pedal correct, It was mentioned that Indetech disconnecting the rear brake lines was not such a good idea and that is why my brakes were so terrible ( the fact that the brakes still had air in them):(.

I was advised by Wayside to go back to Indetech and demand my car was corrected and that i should not have been given back a car with deficient brakes to drive away in, so this is what i did!.After a long chat with Indetech and me explaining what i had been told, i was told by them flatly that they would not do anything else to remedy the problem as they had done all they could:ffs:. i Explained again that i had been that it was just a matter of bleeding the brakes till the pedal was correct, but once again i was told by them in no uncertain terms it was my master cylinder servo that was the cause of the problem:ffs:, i obviously was not getting anywhere so i was advised by a friendly technician at wayside to take it up the road (Denbigh rd, behind screwfix) to a company called VAGTECH, to be looked at, so off i went, i spoke to the owner, a Master Technician called John and explained the whole issue to him, He said it was highly unlikely to be any issue with my serv and that it seems definately a bleeding problem as my brake pedal was not at all hard, ( hard brake pedal indicates master cylinder or servo problem) he could not believe that i had been given my car back like this , i was advised to leave my car with them as they deemed the brakes insufficient to drive due to the excessive brake pedal travel, and that they would ring me when they had inspected the car and bled the brakes.

And low and behold 3 hours later i recieved a call asking me to come and collect my car:grin::grin::grin:, on arrival i was told the car had been road tested and the brakes were now 100%:grin::grin:, i was charged £48 and after thanking them numerous times i was on my way a very happy bunny!.

So there you have it!, sorry for writing such a long thread, but i wanted you to get an idea of what sort of ameteur set up Indetech is, it still dumbfounds me how they can give customers back cars with faults that they have made, without rectifying them first. especially brakes.

As for Vagtech i would highly recommend that this garage is your first point of call, not only is it a far more proffesional set up, but they also rectify problems that other garages make , i really hope this makes people aware of Indetech, and there poor customer service +++

Just to add to this.... My Mrs went in on Sunday morning, she fancies an A1 (She isnt buying into my Corsa Vxr idea) to help keep the miles off of her TT. SO walks into dealership and all sales staff are eating their bacon butties in the managers office..... Dealership is open, guess how many put down their sarnie to assist the young lady in teh showroom - NONE.

She said she even loitered so she was in plain sight fo the room which is all glass anyway, near to the sales desks, but not one person wanted to sell a car on a sunday morning. Pleased to see that being brought out hasn't changed their enthusiasm for top notch customer service.

Out of interest, what is the thinking behind buying a car, in order to keep miles off another one?

It can't be financial, as in worrying about mileage related depreciation, as it'll never lose more money than the cost of a new car.

I could understand it with a valuable classic car or supercar, but a TT? It's a nice enough car, but not exactly 'special'?

Not having a dig or anything, but surely you buy a TT or whatever because you want to drive it, not so that it can sit in a garage while you drive something you like less?

I asked a similar question of a guy on another forum who bought a brand new B8 A4 to keep the miles of his B8 S4! ?!!?!?!

Two fold reasons, partly the TT has 2 seats and she needs 4 from time to time and we cant car share as I always need 4 seats. Secondly the TT is beginging to be a notable cost in running, at £80 a tank and at least 2 tanks a week, something averaging a higher Mpg (double should be a possibility) and the A1 with the 1.6tdi should be good mpg and reasonably nippy.

We have a MK3 GOlf, but she won't drive it as its too old and not comfy for her comute - I disagree with her on that, but her choice I guess and she wotn drive my car because it is too big! Hence me advertisign the MK3 as it doesnt get much use these days, I'd quite happily drive it and let her drive mine but not goign to happen.

The TT isnt that special as special cars go, the colour is hard to replace without spending money, and the 3.2 isnt a popular option wiith fuel prices, so in terms of keeping it - well it looks ok, it makes a nice vroom sound and seems pointless letting it go for not much money....Havign said all of that - her mind might change along with the weather and next week is a totally different porsche badged scenario.......
