simonb
Mother-in-law is after a laptop. Nothing too fancy - she's an 'I.T. beginner' - just wants to get online and type letters and stuff. Will sort her own printer out etc. Must be of reasonable condition and relatively new software - don't want to have to start teaching her how to use Windows95 again!! Based near Warrington - will travel to sort of Leeds (East), Brum (South) and Carlisle (North). Otherwise will have to sort a quote for DHL or someone like that to transport it. Any offers etc by PM or post please. Cheers!! SB

Sponge
ACER TM2414WLMI £299 I've just bought one and I'm well pleased with it. If you're lucky, you might be able to find it at Comet or Tescos and avoid delivery charges.
Muppetboy
Sponge, I've been looking for a good value laptop for mum - the link works but then I can't the see the details! Would you mind letting me know what the spec is please? Comet have sold out unfortunately!
Sponge
Yeah, sure. Will post spec asap. They have been flying off the shelves. I think I was lucky to get one. I called the Comet number from the paper to find out which stores had them in. I'll just get the spec and write back later...

Sponge
The laptop has a button on the front to enable/disable Bluetooth, but I can't seem to make it work. There doesn't seem to be BT installed. Very confusing...
Muppetboy
Cheers Sponge! I've been to a few Comet stores near me and they're all sold out! I've been looking at the Dell outlet store (I have a work Dell lappy which is OK but not great), and also a few online places like this one at £339 plus a £30 rebate... or this one at £351.
