chasdrury
Hi guys We have a 04/54 A8 3.0TDi, 30k miles, FASH (Just serviced), Aurora Blue, 18" 5 spoke wheels, Sat Nav, sports seats and BOSE, obviously quattro too. Does anyone have a Glass' guide trade price on this - its in excellent nick, one wheel needs a touch up and thats it.. The thing is, it hasn't moved more than 100 miles in 3 months and it seems a huge waste of money to keep it sitting there doing nothing and we are looking at getting rid of it. Cheer guys Chaz

rothwell
You probably aren't going to fetch trade book on a 54 plate A8, albeit a nice diesel one. If you wait a few days, I should have Septembers copy of Glass's and can tell you a proper figure. Does the car need any recon for the forecourt? Do you know what you want for it? Merlot
Yeh, and September's book will show a big drop with the plate change. That's a good value car for someone. Sell it privately?
rothwell
Probs on a car like that even a Sept book drop of £700 doesn't seem to unrealistic. I don't know how desirable the 3.0TDi engine is in the A8. It certainly seems to have the right color, wheels and spec.
chasdrury
Cheers guys We were thinking around the £25k figure too. It is in lovely condition, the only thing possibly is new front tyres the rear ones have about 7.5mm left on them. Recently serviced, not scratch on it - the odd stone chip on the bonnet and2 tiny scuffs on 2 of the wheels - and it has the lovely silver leather. Looking at the Audi used website cars such as this are on for around £30k - so surely £25k isn't too unrealistic? Cheers for the quick responses guys. [/ QUOTE ] That assumes that Audi get 30k for theirs... Then again check over autotrader. If you put it up for 25k you'd be the cheapest there bar one which has 64k on the clock. Personally I think the 3.0TDI is a pretty desirable car... check it's resale value against the petrol models it's as good, if not better.
rothwell
Also, how the hell did you get so many points?
chasdrury
[ QUOTE ] Also, how the hell did you get so many points? [/ QUOTE ] Haha!! Good question! Well, the full story is the first three were me driving too fast on a dual carrigeway - 55mph in a 40mph zone. They come off in 3 weeks. Then a red light camera. No excuse. Come off in 5 weeks. Then 2 years and nothing and within 3 days of each other I get flashed at 11.30pm by a scamera van outside a school 34 in a 30! (What kids were going to be around at half eleven!) And 3 days later was unloading 8 PC's out of my car to a clients and had the front half of my car was on zig zag lines on a pedestrian crossing. Off to court, didn't get banned and 6 come off soo now!! Cheers for advice about the '8! Chaz
charlie61
If you look at www.vauxhall.co.uk go to owners then value my car they list the glass's guide prices, the figures are exactly what is quoted above so either they are pretty accurate to the book or that's where the aaronuk got the 26k from
