Is there any common factor behind the decline in numbers at the MK Meet? That is, is there a common link between the decline in numbers and something about the meet? Anything particularly constant about the ones that have been poorly attended?

Help me out here, how is Tyresmoke embarassing that pub in Milton Keynes? confused.gif

Simply that the MK meet only exists due to Tyresmoke. It is embarrassing that only 2 of the 15,271 members put in an appearance.

Ian, just as a matter of interest, can I ask when you're likely to next attend any of the Midlands/Windsor/Essex/NE/South West/Portchester meets? If support is what you're looking for, maybe take a look at your support for other meets. IIRC your attendance at anything other than MK, has been down to others taking you to other venues....please correct me if I'm wrong. Just wondering, as you seem to think the forum is embarrasing the meet, maybe you are able to support all of these other meets as well as your local?

I've managed 33 (I think!) TSN Meets whilst carless, so I've done a little bit better than Carless Colin himself! tongue.gif

Seriously though, if MK folds, then I am more than happy to drive up the M1 to the Midlands meet and make more regular appearances at Windsor. Porchester might be possible at some stage as my parents now own a house on the Solent.

I'm usually only just getting on the train home from London at 7:30pm, so I couldn't get there before 9:30. In all honesty, after 14 hours at the office, the last thing I want to do is to sit in a pub and not be able to nail a few pints frown.gif

Saying that, I'd hoped to get to tonights meet as I'm leaving London early today but as my wife reminded me at 5:30 this morning, it's our wedding anniversary. Sh1t! Feck! Bo11ocks! I'd forgotten it and now I'm really in the deep stuff slap.gif

I've only been to a few MK meets but I enjoyed every one of them, however as others have already pointed out it's quite a trek and for me to get there at a decent time means leaving Swindon right in the middle of rush hour hell. The drive back is a lot of fun but it invariably means getting home at well past midnight, which in itself wouldn't be so bad if the meet weren't on a 'school night'.

I haven't been able to make it so far this year because of work commitments, which also meant I missed three Windsor meets in a row - during the best weather of the year. smashfreakB.gifSAUER0421.GIF

I know it's a joke and I thought it was very funny, but it's a bit like rubbing salt into the wounds...

I would quite happily go along to the MK meets if I was in the area. I have to say I think I've really enjoyed all the meets I've been to there.

PS: It would have been funnier if you had go a piccy of a lone french car in the car park...
