Woppum
I was always a pro evo man until I got the 360, when I was forced to become a Fifa man. I cant really remember clearly as far back as my pro evo 5 days but I seem to remember it being more tactful and slightly harder. However both Fifa 07 and Pro evo are coming out next week. I dont want to buy both of them as with a football game you need to just master 1. If you play both it will just get frustrating. Which to get? DHA
The one that has the ugly granny shagger on the front would put me off due to that alone, even if it was a great game.
gizze
Pro Evo every time, once you are playing you forget the graphics anyway. Pro Evo is one of the only games you can play 2 years later and not be bored of, you can learn where to score on Fifa to easily and then it looses its appeal. Woppum
Got my Pro-evo in the post this morning. So it may be a curry and play tonight. Im way too knackered to do anything else...
robin09
Yeah I got it too. Again they've polished it up a bit. I like the fact you can muscle past defenders now without them instantly taking the ball off you. Plus the 'International Challenge' is a good idea. World Cup and qualifiers effectively. Woppum
Im just playing a Chelsea season in Beginner at the moment. Getting used to the difference between this and Fifa. Ive got to say graphics is a disappointment. It just looks like HD PS2 standard. But then i suppose its out on the PS2 so they were never going to alter it much for the 360. However after coming from Fifa World Cup its clearly a step down. Gameplay however is far far superior to Fifa. I forgot what proper footy games were like. Shooting for example, I was so used to just pressing shoot in Fifa and the attacker would always be on target, even if shooting from goal! This is very different. There is alot more precision, but I haven't mastered it yet so dont want to comment too much. I may be wrong, but I think to get a clean powerful shot you have to double tap shoot? Anyway can certainly recommend this game. I havent tried the new Fifa, but im not going to!
garcon magnifique
I think I've grown out of gameplay type footy games. THE footy game is Football Manager (previously CHampionship Manager).

[/ QUOTE ] I wouldn't double tap shoot, but you really only need to get a 3rd of the power bar up for a decent shot. Anything over half power and they tend to get launched into orbit. And headers literally just need a tap of the shoot button on the new game.
Woppum
It seems though, even if I tap it, it often goes in to orbit? Do you have it on the 360 or the PS2? I always remember Pro Evo 5 was much better on the playstation than the X box. Im probably just doing it wrong...
robin09
The PS2. It maybe has lost a bit in conversion to the Xbox.
Woppum
Im getting the hang of it now. Its not like Fifa World Cup, which is what I have become acclimatised to over the past year. Its much harder, but probably more realistic. That said, im not impressed with the graphics of Pro Evo. A friend came over last night to have a couple of games. He has been plying Fifa 07 on the 360, but on a non high def TV. He said the graphics were noticeably better even though we were playing on my HD. He also said game play on Fifa was much better. A big improvement from world cup. I have Fifa 07 on the PSP but its not really a fair comparison Has anyone else had experience with both and chosen a clear winner?
