Simonl
Seems that my car was accidently set to Short life servicing even though it is filled with long life oil and should be on long life servcing. Now the dealer that sold me the car apolgised and said, no problem, pop in and we'll re set it for you... it's a 5 minute job. (great) except they are over 140 miles away So i phoned my local dealer and politely asked if they may look at it whilst it was in having a few other things looked at and re set it for me. Sure they said, but you'll have to pay for it. For fecks sake, it's a 5 minute job on a £25k car... now i know it's not their fault, but talk about trying to please the customer... I've bought 2 cars from them before and would have bought this one from them if they would have had a slot... but hey... they couldn't give a sh!t about that either. Does anyone else know someone in a dealer that could flash my ECU and get it sorted... Aheemm MattR
MOSE
Is it possible that this could be done with the VAGCOM thing?

RedRobin
Speak to Ian Beadle at Loders and ask his advice about how to get a more local dealer to correct the problem. You might even ask him if he'll make a call on your behalf. Otherwise VW UK should sort it out. But I think Ian will want to help (feel free to mention my name - Robin). Simonl
I love going down there, thrashing their cars to within an inch of their lives... and then buying elsewhere.
nutkins
Is that Abridge in Loughton? I tried to get them to register my car my VW UK and they said 'only on a week day' (it was sat) - I managed to talk them to taking photocopies of the docs so they could fax them on the Monday but they clearly threw them in the bin as I heard nothing. I'd just spent £600 in the bodyshop too...

Gave them a good slaggin' off to VW uk... nice [/ QUOTE ] Jesus, the Romford people actually looked after someone? I have nothing good to say about that place full stop. Horrific sales strategy Useless Service The worst test drive route Closed on Sundays I went looking last weekend for a MkV Golf for the wife and got told to come back when I'd sold my p/x. That was the only thing he said to my initial narritive of "I want to buy a MkV Golf". Yesterday I bought another Audi.... Sounds like you did well
shao_khan
I think its just VW dealers (there are a couple of good ones i'm sure) but they are backed up by a bunch of toscars at VW uk who just dont give a monkies - I am sure they have training to remove any customer service skills when they join the company. So effectively you are left with a bunch of incompetants who dont care being backed up by a bunch of idiots who dont care.
