Err big time on the side of caution with Pagid pads. They are fine on non-performance cars (run them on Mrs Mook's Passat) but they fade like buggery on a stock R32.

It depends on what ones you go for, the standard Pagid pads are fine for non performance cars but they also make a Performance range to suit. I run them on a car with 300+ bhp and they're fine! 169144-ok.gif

Valid point Alex - what performance car do you run them on. From experience, a lot comes down to the weight of the car. I tried two flavours of Pagid pads when I had standard brakes and they both faded. Badly...

That could be the case, I run mine in a Mk2 Golf with a TT engine transplanted (with modifications)! ECLIPSe.gif

Don't forget that if the "replacement parts" are from a supplier to VW, these are technically OEM, so you should be fine.

....You should be fine with your VW dealer anyway. European law passed in around 2003 called 'Block Exemption Ruling' doesn't allow a dealer to dictate what you can and can't do. They and not you, have to prove in a court of law that the non-OEM product was the direct cause of a warranty issue. My VW dealer is totally happy about all my mods and has even installed some of them. They are also happy if I remap and when I discussed my intention to upgrade my OEM front brakes to AP Racing BB kit with DS2500 pads and all the rest of the biz, they said they had no problem servicing but I would have to supply the new pads for them to fit as they weren't a stock item.

AP Racing (owned by Brembo) fitted my brakes and supplied me with an Owner's Handbook and fully exploded working drawing and parts list of the kit.

Bugg€r. Did you try the Pagid Orange RS44 pads, Mook?

The Pagids were heavily recommended by my local VAG tuner, Jabbasport.

Hope they will be ok for the occasional track day UHOH7.GIF

No, I didn't. And AFAIK, Jabba don't do much (if any) work on R32's, so I don't know how well qualified that recommendation may have been. You're just going to have to try them and see.

Cheers Mook beerchug.gif

Jabbasport are mainly "forced induction" specialists & have only recently started doing work on R32s in response to customer demand.

So far, so good with the Orange Pagid pads (already fitted) but I haven't really given them a thorough testing yet.
