andyf
Does this seem like a good price, front discs OEM, front pads replacement, rear discs replacement, rear pads OEM. I know its a bit of a mix of OEM and replacement but the replacement parts are a supplier to VW.
Mook
£419 is a good price, esp. given that a set of front disks and pads from VW is about £500 IIRC. Don't forget that if the "replacement parts" are from a supplier to VW, these are technically OEM, so you should be fine.
alexc
checkout www.gsfcarparts.com they sell Brembo discs and Pagid pads, more than upto thje job and probably much cheaper.
Mook
Err big time on the side of caution with Pagid pads. They are fine on non-performance cars (run them on Mrs Mook's Passat) but they fade like buggery on a stock R32.
khutula
I have just taken order of these. I only ordered them on Wednesday afternoon. Good service and genuine parts

[/ QUOTE ] It depends on what ones you go for, the standard Pagid pads are fine for non performance cars but they also make a Performance range to suit. I run them on a car with 300+ bhp and they're fine!
Mook
Valid point Alex - what performance car do you run them on. From experience, a lot comes down to the weight of the car. I tried two flavours of Pagid pads when I had standard brakes and they both faded. Badly...

Mook
Reckon that's why - about 1100KG IIRC. The R32 is a heavy lump at over 1500KG. Neat conversion though

[/ QUOTE ] ....You should be fine with your VW dealer anyway. European law passed in around 2003 called 'Block Exemption Ruling' doesn't allow a dealer to dictate what you can and can't do. They and not you, have to prove in a court of law that the non-OEM product was the direct cause of a warranty issue. My VW dealer is totally happy about all my mods and has even installed some of them. They are also happy if I remap and when I discussed my intention to upgrade my OEM front brakes to AP Racing BB kit with DS2500 pads and all the rest of the biz, they said they had no problem servicing but I would have to supply the new pads for them to fit as they weren't a stock item. AP Racing (owned by Brembo) fitted my brakes and supplied me with an Owner's Handbook and fully exploded working drawing and parts list of the kit. The Pagids were heavily recommended by my local VAG tuner, Jabbasport. Hope they will be ok for the occasional track day

Seeing as how I'm still on the original discs after 43k miles and 3 trips to the Ring, I may have to buy a set soon.
RossG
Yes they are genuine, I got a set from there a couple of weeks ago. Fitted the other day - muchos improvement

You're just going to have to try them and see.

So far, so good with the Orange Pagid pads (already fitted) but I haven't really given them a thorough testing yet.

deathchurch
Ah, that makes sense then. I take it your Dsgwagen from ebay, I haven't forgotten about your deal, I just need to find somewhere I trust to fit them, or else its me paying through the nose at the dealers.
